on the 3G TL.
I have the automatic and like it (never tried a manual TL-- I chose the auto TL over a manual TSX). The TL has never been back to the dealer except once for the recall work on the steering hose/wiper motor.
Three friends are also TL owners -- an '04 (manual), '05 and '08 -- they have not had any problems either and are still very happy with their cars, as of last week.

^^ If every single member with a 3G TL WITHOUT transmission problems posted a thread about how well their vehicle is holding up, this forum would be pretty damn boring.
Sure there are members with tranny issues but those members pale in comparison to those of us without any tranny problems.

I''m not going to deny that some 04-05 owners have tranny problems and yes, the OP should know this important fact. There was also a recall on the tranny (posted in the Garage) but I dispute the 'disproportionate' claim. Maybe you could provide some objective facts/stats to show the actual number of 04/05 TL's produced that have had their tranny's replaced?
