Woud you????
Well that depends on what you want from the car. If speed+handling then STI...If everything else+decent power/handling then TL. Personally I bought TL because it was a more practical car.
Completely different category of car. I dunno if I would say trade up. The STI is a race inspired sports car where as the TL is a luxury sport sedan. A couple things to take note of. Subaru Service sucks ass. If you mod the car you will have no warranty period. They are known for warranty denial. I speak from experience being a previous owner of a WRX. Also with all the morons driving them and wrecking them because they think AWD makes them invincible your insurance is surely going to go up from what it is currently on the TL.

thanks for all your inputs! i just got back from the subaru dealer. and yes "JDM" you are correct, their service sucks! i had the first salesman come up to me not knowing shit about the car. all the answers to the questions i asked were " I DUNNO". I knew more of the car than the salesman did. 2nd salesman, same thing happened. this timei was demonstrating the car the to salesman instead of him demonstrating it to me! and then when i asked to test drive the sti, they told me, no you can't test drive it until u buy it. "I WAS LIKE WTF". den i said to the salesman: "would you buy a pair of shoes without trying them on?" he answered no, and i was like EXACTLY. I wouldnt buy a car until i test drive it. i know the salesman felt embarassed and stupid!! hahahaha so then i left!
back to the car topic. i checked out the car, sat in it compared it to my tl. and i dont think im going to be gettin the sti. its too compact and everything looks so PLAIN. and the craftsman ship on it is horrible. oh well! sorry its so long fellas!

I wouldn't say the craftsmanship on the car is horrible at all. I think the craftsmanship on my TL is worse than the subaru as far as paint /exterior. When I meant service I also meant actual service/warranty dept.. Oh well.
The Sti is more of a trade over, not a trade up. If you're looking for pure performance, then go for it. If you want a mix of something that's fun to drive daily, and still pretty fast, then the Sti is not for you.
Good luck with your decision. You should also cross shop the Evo with the STi, by the way. Mitsubishi has a much better rep for service and customer relationships.

Lancer EVO is better for the Price. Completely different type of car. I would hardly call it luxury. I think its kinda unnecasary unless you are doing some serious street racing. It may be a little more fun to drive but Id go with the TL any day. If you want power so bad add NOS or something.
At this point… I think I am willing to trade this piece of junk for anything that doesn’t have rattles and driveline vibrations. I’d even trade it for 2 dodge Neons. I think TL is over-rated, and experts gave inaccurate reviews. So in general, Acura is a joke…

If Acura is a joke, then Dodge must be the king of all comedians.
