Is this worth fixing......um....i mean.....saving

it's me, Alan Rickman.
14k for the car as is
10 - 15 k to rebuild correctly - if possible - or atleast to make it LOOK correct
In 1 year you have something broken; let's say for some reason your sunroof goes out; take it dealer for warranty... oh wait.. you don't have a warranty
Completely not worth it, at all. I absolutely have no idea why people buy salvage cars, and I get really pissed off when I see them being sold on eBay (there's a shop in Sacramento run by.. the people that usually salvage cars.. and sell them on ebay with the SAME EXACT description everytime "this car was in minor front fender accident"; total bs - a car does not get totaled for a bent fender). Anywho who buys a salvage car is a tard, and anyone who fixes one and then tries to sell it and pass it off as a simple fender bender is an asshole and should be in jail.
Sorry.. this topic gets me heated.. at my old job there were two foreign guys who wouldn't buy anything but a salvage car and they tried to convince me how it's just little things that make it salvage.
So here's my input, you asked for it, buy the car if you're an idiot.

Only valid use for salvage titled cars is parts IMHO. Especially for kit cars and the like. Buy a factory five cobra kit and a salvage mustang FTW.

That is some nice salvage! I would love to have some parts off of that car! Hell we could all pitch in and buy it and it could be the official acurazine 3rd gen parts car!

save your breathe man. i had an 06 TL with mucho dinero in it... similar accident... actually, might have even been less damage !!! not even close to worth fixing it. not unless you find a salvaged 07 TLS from the REAR. and chop the two in half, and put em back together.

The best advice to do with this car if you really want it is to buy it and resell it.
1. you can fix it and slap it on ebay with a rebuilt title, someone out of the country would buy it in a heart beat.
2. Get the hood and fender take it to a frame shop straighten the legs and run it back through the auction youll get 20k easy for it.
3. offer the guy less for it cause if he's selling it to you for 14k he pronably spen 10k-12k

well, well, I would say by the pics you are looking at about 20K to fix at a body shop (like mine) and if you do the math its close on price. I wouldn't do it unless you had some conections with a shop. Things to think about on this pic:
1) The fram rails look liked they are pushed into the motor so you probley have engine damage (though probley minor)
2) When the air bag was deployed that also means any seat belt in use has to be replaced
3) I am a little cofused at the damage, why the hood seems to be in decent condition considering the damage (some repairs may have already begun)
4) Wheels look pretty straight agian considering the hit which baffles me even more
5) For us to do a repair like that we would have to buy a section (the frount half of another TL) once you tear into that you basically have 2 cars to choose from wiether or not parts are good between the 2
6) Fram rails being bent is ok... IF you have the proper equipment... a good body shop can repair that I would not suggest doing that on your own (the fram rails)
Just stuff to think about, also you may try taking the pictures to a few body shops and see if they will buy it... 14K is some what in the ball park that a body shop could fix it sale it and make a little money.
BTW I am not interested LOL just helpin out
