Winter Wheels Arrived

The winter wheels arrrived from Sunnyside Acura.

They are very easy to work with.

Hopefully the tire shop will have the LM-22s in early next week.

I'm assuming this is the standard 17" TL wheel. Can you put it on the scale and report back on how much it weighs?

They're not bad... I really like our wheels... it's better than most of aftermarket ones...

P.S. You hide another one under your chair (on the right of the photo)... ?

$963 delivered with the center caps.

I was waiting for a set of take offs from a car that got upgraded to 18s. With the weather getting wintery here, I did not want to wait and went with new ones.

The take offs run around $600 for a set.

The only difference with the winter wheels is the tires. I will have a set of LM-22s on these.

I looked at other 17 inch wheels on the car compared to the stock wheel, I continued to like the stock look.

Plus future access to replacements is a must around here as the potholes eat tires and wheels to sustain themselves.

The car still has the original set up (the unloved re-42s).

There are a couple of pictures in my gallery.

The ASA Ka3 wheels from the tirerack are great looking (opinion) and "only" $155 each.

have had Lm 22s on asa js 1s from tirerack for about a month, they pull, turn and brake very good. However, the car is a little twitchy in certain slushy or snow rutted conditions. This is very rare; only on poorly maintained country roads where i live. It's probably down to tire width; if they were narrower they'd punch through the slop better (I think).

The LM 22s are OEM size, 235 45 17.

I liked many of the tirerack options but I shied away from changing the size of the tires (the narrower tire would grip better but I went with Acura's recommendation to maintain the size) or the wheels (many were 7 inch wide).

The tires love the cold. I will try the snow grip this evening.

My experience with them on the S2000 has been terrific.

Plenty of grip, predictable handling, excellent at highway speed and no sidewall failures.

I blew a Pirelli P zero every year on the Volvo I replaced with the TL.

Regarding the M3 tire, my friend put then on her new Cayenne and they are excellent.

I did not find the Dunlop M3 in the OEM size while i was hunting around.

No Flatspotting (whew!)

I would not recommend a high price solution like these if I had problems with them.
