Winter storage steps

Hi.
I have a 2008 TL and needed to store the car over the winter. I was thinking of doing the following

disconnect car battery
overinflate tires (i dont have jack stands)
fill the tank with gas.

My question is do I need to do anything else and is fuel stabilizer necessary???

tnx for your help
kb.

You don't need to go all crazy like some people might recommend. What you stated is pretty good. Fill the tank, maybe do the oil if its close to needing to be done. Some recommend starting the car and letting it warm up, but IMO don't do that. Idling a car does no good for it infact it's actually not recommended. If your gonna start it it's important to drive the car and allow everything to warm up properly. If your gonna park the car just leave it be.

Kbahra, check out this thread:

basically says to top off your gas tank, add some heet, make sure the tire pressure is right, do not idle the car, etc ,etc

Thread hijack!

I'll be out of country from Dec 7 and be back on Jan 16, which is not really winter storing. Do I need to do anything my car? My oil life is at 20%, filling up the tank and doing an oil change will run me about $120, money that I really need since I'll be traveling to lots of cities in two continents! I had Mobil 1 full synthetic on it with 6000 miles, I've seen people just reset the service MID do 15000 miles on it I wonder if leaving that in there for a month in cold Baltimore winter will do any real damage. I plan on changing the oil when I come back and MID goes below 10%.
