Winter is here!

For all of you on the North East of the US (Such as myself,) Winter is here!!

I'm curious to see how many, if anyone, habitually purchase the winter wiperblades to prevent snow from encrusting the moving parts. I'm debating whether this new TL needs them or if it can rough it without em.

I know from years in the patrol car during snow storms, not having them on most cars can be a you know what, having to slap them to remove ice chips.

It is more of a matter of personal preference as can be said by your experience as a "speeder's worst nightmare" lol...

In all fairness, I don't have an issue of occasionally having to slap the wipers to free them of ice as, some summer/all-season wipers are better wiping than some winter blades. I find that Honda (including Acura?) OEM blades suck, yet Toyota uses good blades that wipe really well... so if you can find a good all-season wiper with a boot (like a winter wiper has) then you will be happier for your Acura. Just my two Benjamin's worth.

Ahh winter. The joys of 4 hours in an empty parking lot, alot of friends, a video camera, ALOT of snow, and a SSM TL... Many memories. I never knew how nice the TL's exhaust sounded. I litterally was drop jawed. Trust me owners get your wives or someone to give it a quick boot next time they leave the house or something, it's VERY nice.

most important item is SLOW down KEEP distance.
I say 3 times the normal distance on snow and a lot more on ice.

Winter tire and set of steel rims are good idea, I never been able to afford it so I always ride on all season. All season does "OK" on snow "Not good" on ice.

Second, checking/maintaining battery, oil, tire, wiper, washer fluid and keeping some tools, flash in the car.

Must accessories are an ice scraper, and snow brush. Less important is a small hand shovel. I don't think the US models have a lowwasher indicator so it is wise to have a spare bottle of washer fluid.

I just drove to school this morning in light to moderate snow and I averaged 16L/100KM = 15mpg. Holy crap there must be something going on with winter gas around here.

I'm another North East'er here!

I'm also not looking forward to winter this year; although, in Harrisburg we've been pretty lucky the past few years...everything breaks up over the mountains out in western PA.

However...It's Tuesday, November 29, 2005 and the current temp here is 64*.........that's insane for this time of the year! The wind is howling though between 20-30 miles an hour with wind gusts around 50. Great hair day!

NICE. Reminds me of last winter when we had our MPV. After work in the Staples parking lot, after a nice fresh layer of snow. Of course i was going in the right direction cause it had rear wheel drive.
