Windshield Wiper Features..?

Alright, so it was raining a little this morning and it got me thinking.. does the TL have any nifty wiper features?

I have an 01 Accord, when I set the wipers to INT on the lowest delay the following happens:

Driving - wipers are wiping consistently

Stopped - wipers do 5 or 6 passes then stop; which to me is nice because you don't end up hearing that screech as the blades pass over a dry window. When I start driving they resume normal operation.

(Edit: I have bad memory - I think they stop completely maybe the delay jumps to 30 seconds.. I always forget to pay attention, but i'm pretty sure they just stop until I resume movement)

Yep. The delay kicks in when the car is at a lower speed.

06 AT here.

at a redlight the wipers stop, as soon as you let off the brakes the will wipe.

oh it has a red light detector? =p

Thanks for the response guys - I was hoping Honda would have included a feature that was on an 01 accord in the new TL

The feature is called "speed sensative, variable intermittant wipers". It reduces the amount of delay time as your speed increase. If you have it on a low enough delay, it comes off of intermittant while you are at speed and goes back on delay when you are stopped. Very nice feature.

Not very useful, though. First, I don't see much difference at different speeds and I have to dial wipers speed back and forth. Second, even in theory, it would work only when the “amount of rain” is constant. Often (like on a long trip) your speed is fairly constant, but rain isn't. I think Acura could've done better. I like what BMW did - "rain" sensitive wipers (not sure how they call it). It senses amount of water on a windshield and changes wipers' speed accordingly. That's much better because it addresses the issue, not some unrelated parameter (speed). Hope next Acura will have something like that – or better!
