2x a year isn't nearly enough on the 303. Once a month is where it's at.

I love my Cover craft. $50 shipped, but the fit and finish is great. a coworker bought one for his Mazda 3, so I saw this before I ordered it. I see it lasting for many years and the protection is worth it.

Our dashes have a slight chance of cracking, google Dodge Ram Dash pad and try to find a link that doesn't mention the dashes cracking. 98-02 were/ are notorious. And they don't just crack, I see people refer to them as craters and the dash just disintegrating away.

Now off to start applying the 303 I bought last night!

I dont recommend the ones from target (dont recall the brand name). They dont fit at all. I am going to get one at the dealership today before the KC cruise and meet. $29 bucks.:thumbsup:

I actually don't know how many times I put 303 on my dash. I just twice a year because I don't work on my interior during the winter. But since summer is coming around I will definitely be working more on my car myself.

Glad to see everybody taking care of their dashboards. I am still undecided on which sunshade to buy but am leaning to the amazon one I linked earlier. I have no interest in having my dashboard crack on me and going through the hassle of replacing it.

Get the heatshield from the dealer for $35; its awesome just ask justnspace :thumbsup:

I've used the Covercraft sunshade on my 06 since I bought it last Fall. The sunshade works great and it's easy to put up and take down. With it, I haven't worried about my dash cracking. Highly recommended.

Never did see a bad review in my searches on Covercraft but about half negative on Heatshield. At $35 vs $47 to my door I ordered up a Covercraft and will drive by the Brew Pub once and the difference is paid for :)

how is it working out. my 06 isnt cracking, but i do have the outlines around the air bags. they dont look so bad when i 303 my dash, but as the 303 wears off the lines are more prominent.

i am still deciding on where to buy a good shield. i really just want one that is light (wont strain the visors) and one that is cut to fit the TL (so its not bunched up or sagging). how does your covercraft do in those regards?

i just found that heatshield is 2 min away from my work, makes me lean towards it... (do you have a link to the bad reviews you read about them) im curious.

I use a basic window shade. Also have you looked into polorized tint? its clear and 100% legal. Helps alot with glair. Also a trick I was told by an old upholstery guy, that leaving a bottle of water opened in the car when its hot and sitting in the sun. It will creat mosture in the car and help with the leather and dash from drying and cracking. Not sure how well it really works but I have done it for years now and never had a dash crack. Just my 2cents.

Go with the covercraft.

I had the heatshield for about 2 years. It sagged in the middle eventually and just got really annoying because it wouldn't stay up.

I bought a covercraft from a member locally and the difference is well worth it.

Neither one of these sunshades are heavy enough to "strain" your sun visors.

Both heatshield and covercraft are made to fit your TL windshield perfectly.

The covercraft looks a lot more expensive and higher quality. I don't know exactly what type of material it's made of but it's pretty stiff and rigid. Almost like some type of hard foam. I'm not saying it's made out of cardboard but the stiffness of the sunshade is comparable to a piece of cardboard box but thicker.

After running the heatshield for 2 years I can say with confidence that it's junk compared to the covercraft. It's very flimsy and likes to sag over time. Honestly the heatshield is just like every other generic cheap sunshade. It makes a crap load of noise when your folding it up because of the reflective material it uses. It's made out of some type of very soft "foam-like" material and uses a "aluminum-like" reflective material on the surface.

If you can get the Covercraft than I would say get that one instead.

If the heatshield is easier for you to get your hands on than it's better than nothing.

Covercraft > Heatshield > No sunshade.

10 years now with the Canvasworks. Still good as new, no sagging. :thumbsup: Not sure if quality went down when they switched to HeatShield.

I am looking for me a Covercraft to buy tonight and was looking at autoanything.com. They only have an option for an 07 Acura Tl, but I have an 07 TL Type S. Will it still fit the same? Also, anybody ordered there before? I need it next week because I start back to school and don't want my dash exposed to the heat all day for several days!

All 04-08 windshields are the same shape and size so yes it will fit.

You better read closely because the last time I looked it took like 2 weeks to make it before they could ship it.

I just use the foldable one from target for front and back as well and the window is tinted at 5% I choose this because the relentless summer heat wave in TX.

My heatshield has no sag like you stated. Had it for 3 years now. Although the only thing I hate is the way one has to roll it up.

I have a $10 window shade I got at Bed Bath & Beyond (plus the ubiquitous 20% discount with one of those coupons, so $8 plus tax). Works fine. It has suction cups to help hold it in place and it's big enough to fill pretty much the entire window.
