Windshield replacement?
I was wondering if anyone here has had there windshield recently replaced and paid out of pocket? If so how much did you pay? I'm in need of a new one and my no fault ins. wont replace it. I did an online estimate with safelite just to see how much they cost and out the door its $267.40.
The price seems a bit too good to be true...at least for this car anyway. I have the 08 type s. But I am a new Acura owner so I don't know a whole lot about these cars yet. I thought the price would be allot more...
Ty for the replies!

Find a local windshield shop and get a quote. ~200 is a good price for OEM

pick a reputable shop and ask them if they carry good brand names windshield, OEM one is AP which is now AGC (or some thing like that). $257.70 sound like you will be getting China no name company quality.

When I had mine replace last May I ended up with Pilkington glass; I looked into this brand and while I did read of some issues from several years ago, pretty much all recent reviews of this glass are good.
From my perspective, the Pilkington windshield is easily as good as the OEM glass, but for a fraction of the price.

Pilkington is an OEM supplier to a couple of manufacturers. We had a run of bad luck and had three windshields replaced in the span of 15 months. First on my daughter's 09 Accord, then on my wife's 07 ES350 and finally on my 08 TL-S. No issues with any of the replacement glass. In MA we don't pay for glass replacement, but if I remember correctly the independent glass shop I used for all three charged the insurance company around $310 for each.

I had mine replaced this year. They used an aftermarket glass and I am highly unpleased with it. It was covered under insurance at 0 cost to me so I took it. I believe their rate was $130 and something like $130 also for the glass if you had to pay out of pocket.
