Winding noise with acceleration

Has anyone notices a winding noise when excelerating or just trying to keep a constant speed? I notice it mainly between 40 and 60 mph. The dealer told me that this was normal, but I find that hard to believe with a car like this. If I let off the accelerator, the noise goes away, but when I depress it again, it comes back. Could it be the transmission? Differencials? Drive by wire throttle?

Thanks.

It sounds exactly like the problem I had. Dealer didn't believe me until I drove them around and showed it to them (they couldn't replicate it, but within seconds, I had). Check your RPM's. If it happens around 2000, it's probably your heat shield. Have the dealer tighten it.

I've not had a problem with wind noise.

Until about 125mph.

I had the same thing happen to mine with less than 1,000 miles! I thought mine sounded more like a slipping belt, but not nearly as loud, they couldn't find it at first so I had to take my service tech out and show it to them too. They replaced the entire heat shield on mine, kept the car for five days (over a weekend while they waited for the part).

I took it for a ride today and I agree, it does sound like a loose belt, or something needs to be lubricated. I have a jeep that does it, and they told me it was the transfer case.

However, it is loudest at about 1500rpm and when I am just maintaining speed. The minute I let off the excellerator, it stops. It is directly related to the throttle.

Does this still sound like the heat shield?
