So im in the market for a TL, but im not really limiting myself to other cars. Was gonna buy a salvaged TL from the states, but the deal fell through. But...

Looking on Autotrader here in Canada there is no difference in price between a tsx and tl????? Tsx usually start around 14k when some TL's are even cheaper than that. Is there a reason???

The TSX is imported from Japan. Generally Honda's built in Japan have a slightly higher build quality. TL is built in the US.

Now that these cars your looking at have been on road for a bit, the price will reflect the condition and upkeep of the car.

I had been through the same dilemma too. When shopping for a used car, I was actually looking for a tsx thinking it wud be cheaper, but ended up buying a tl because of no price difference.
i think it's because of tsx being a 4 cylinder car thus being more fuel efficient. 4 cylinder cars tend to retain their value better.

I was in the same shoes, I was looking at tsx first then when I relized for 2-3gore I can get a tl and thus how I ended with the tl.

^ I had the same reasons when buying new- the extra 3k seemed like a good value for a TL over TSX with the extra power and refinements it has. The used car prices may reflect extra supply for 3G TLs since the TL outsold the TSX when in 3G form. I would imagine there are a lot more TLs available than TSXs. In a 50 mile radius from my house there are 103 TLs available and only 48 TSXs.

In my scan the TSXs tend to have higher miles than the TLs so that causes the pricing to be less too. A 2006 TSX/Nav goes for about 17.5K with 61K miles while a 2006 TL/Nav with 37K miles goes for 22K. These both are private party prices.
