Why doesn't the 3G TL show it's age?

I've seen TL's that are in pretty crappy condition. But most are good looking because many owners take better care of them. I'd like to think that the paint or finish or seats or body integrity, etc. are 'better' than other vehicles but I don't think that's the case as much as care.

I agree with you and that is why I sought out my TL a couple years back. I think the look of the car was way ahead of its time and even with the new cars coming out I still prefer the look of the TL. I'm going to keep mine for a very long time.

Ah, that makes a bit more sense. Well, it's been said before that the TL is a 'timeless' design. It has the typical Japenese wedge shape in the front, which I love compared to american muscle cars because visibility and response is excellent. But the rear end is almost 'americanesque' with the sudden drop. It's a unique combination. That might have something to do with it. I'm really disappointed that Acura didn't evolve the 3rd gen design rather than almost abandoning it and going with this wierd ass 4th gen alien spaceship design. But eh, that's the way it is.

The 07-08 TL-S 6MT is one of the best vehicles ever made, at least for its price range.
I'm not sure why most other people don't understand this, since several people thought I was being silly for ONLY looking for an 07-08 TL-S 6MT. I've looked at other cars, and just don't like them. The TL-S has damn near everything right, out of the box. There is very little I would change on it.
I kept my previous car 7 years, and the only reason why I ditched it was to get a TL-S. I might have this one for quite a while. The only new car I actually like is the Tesla Model S Signature Performance, which is about $100k, so it's surely not terribly economical.

The TL-S is the next vehicle I plan on upgrading to Which I think is stupid since upgrading to the same vehicle you have but just to a higher trim level and newer year (within the same genearation) is kind of silly. Not very many people do that. But the other options just fall short. I'd be all over the RL if it had a manual.
The G37 might be a close consideration, but it just doesn't flow like the TL.

I agree...I can see a BONE stock one rolling down the highway and I'll STILL check it out.
Over 3 years of ownership and I still look back and ogle when I park anywhere. It's abnormal...haven't seen too many shaped cars that I can say that about.
CLASSIC look, and I agree about the 2nd Gen RL...gorgeous too.
And since most of these threads are useless without pics...and I'm a picture HOOOAHHH...

I totally agree as well as many of my friends. Even though I have a 04....since I've taken care of the car, it still looks new and stylish!! Love the 3rd gen's!!! I keep myself happy by doing a mod here and there instead of all at once....helps with saving money on a short term basis and helps keep me interested in the vehicle.

^^^RIGHT!
My favorite mod to date, will be achieving no car payment on a 9 year old car (almost) with 84K miles that still looks and drive almost as well, if not better than most of the cars you see on the road today.
Takes a lot of pride, blood, sweat, tears, money etc...to keep up with an aging car. But when you're a jack of all trades...there's no "master" at anything that inspire me to go out and spend another $30k or more.

Just another reason why I love the 3G TL. The exterior is fresh and modern, and the body lines are amazing. I'd have to say the thing I love most about the TL is the interior. Granted, our leather sucks, but something about our dash just has me drooling every time I get in. It has kept its age splendidly with a huge LCD navigation screen, perfectly placed buttons, and a flowing design throughout the car. I'm not a huge fan of where Acura/Honda have gone these past few years, but it's just not the same.
Our 3G TL used to actually be a premium over the Accord, but lately, I have a hard time seeing Acura as a premium brand (except for the MDX, which is the only Acura I like now). Two of my friends have the new Accord, and I am more impressed by it than I am with the 4G TL.

J, you picture whore!! always flaunting his stuff!
I think the TL is an amazing looking car, I can spot them in traffic regularly too, I still give them a gaze.
Like many others have said here, the 3G TL has a timeless design and I completely agree.

The 3g TL is a sexy car. Plain and simple. From stock to a modded one p, it just looks good. Sure there are things that you can do to make it ugly,(transformer TL) most look really good. Not to mention it looks better than a lot of newer cars and is aging really well.

I have to agree with this cause last month or so I was seriously considering trading my 06 TL in for something else cause of future expenses coming up but decided to stick with my car and put in couple of thousands or so to keep it for a very long time coming. Who knows may even keep it like the million mile Joe who had his 90 or 91 Accord

I wanted one since the 3G ASPEC came out. Always wanted one in WDP with ebony interior. I had the option of getting a TSX, newer TL, 370Z, and a 540i but I just love the styling of the 3G TL too much. If it were RWD then I would have gotten a TLS in a heartbeat. But i'm still very much happy

Thanks fellas, and believe it or not, I'm a victim of circumstance...bought it off my stepdad or else I never would have chosen black, and in the pictures of the thread I bought my wheels from, I thought they were a dark gunmetal. I have never been a fan of black on black, but I've learned to work with it.
I agree on the E46 M3, in stock form it can look a little dated...but it is a classic looking beauty...and with some minor mods, looks amazing.

It's definitely NOT the paint lol. Honda/Acura paint is pure crap. Chips, scratches & swirls so easily. I second u on it being the care from owner lol.

It's a good design and does not have that dated look to it like other cars do. It also does not hurt that may other cars look similar even now.....
