why is the new TL the only one on the acura website to be affected by the new SAE hp rating? the RL still has 300 and the MDX still has 265?

and why arent any of the competitors affected by the new rating method?

 

if you look closely, the 05 models of the RL and MDX are still on the site and have not been replaced by the 06 models which i do believe have slightly lower ratings as well.

 

there are numerous threads on this exact issue. many car companies have decided not to abide by the new SAE rating with their existing powertrains. but most companies said they will change the ratings for the new models and powertrains. so their models won't decrease in sales.

 

 

some ratings get higher like the vette, but some get lower

it's just a different ratings system and different motors are affected differently


just because you're acura got docked 15hp doesn't mean everyone else will too
