2. Put ~10k into it

Just realized other than labor, not too many parts had to be replaced on it..

It had front bumper, fenders, hood and headlights replaced

Its not uncommon for cars like that to get rubuilt since its a 2010 and probably has really low mileage. Salvage yards sell front ends or "noses" for 2-4k plus labor = a cheap newish car either to keep or sell for profit. For those who do the work themselves it's a pot of gold.
