Good to know! So the TL weighs 3480lbs. So my accord is about 208lbs lighter than a TL.

That has to be the slowest time (by far) that I've come across on a G35.

Wow a 15.5. Here at SIR in tucson the G35 auto I ran went 15.5@90MPH to my 15.4@92MPH but we are at 3075ft elevation and the DA that day was around 4300ft so we both should have been in the mid 14's but your track is closer to sea level with more ideal conditions.

Damn man. Your car feels a full second slower than what it'd be @ sea level everyday??!!! You gotta move bro lol.

Yes it does! Its really crazy to drive it at sea level compared to here. When I went to huntington beach cali to visit my cousin my car felt like a effin rocket! I was at 12ft above sea level there. I am going back to cali in late July so I will make some accel vids with the Jpipe there. I really want to track it there but I wont be there very long. Turbo vehicles though don't have as much of an issue with elevation since they are FI. Just the darn NA vehicles!

That will learn him for having a hot air intake on a G35 where he's loosing at least 10-15whp. Additionally, having all his mods (intake, catback, spacer) with no tuning has caused his car to run excessively lean. In warmer temps, the engine is going to pull a crapload of timing and richen the A/F to compensate. In the end, he gets a slower than stock car. Tell him to yank that intake and put the OEM intake back on. The OEM G intake setup is idela from a power standpoint and accurate MAF sensor reading standpoint.

I'd imagine he's clueless on how to get the best times out of a 5AT G too. You simply don't put it into D or let it shift itself.....unless you plan on running .3 and 2mph slower.

Maybe this is what happened to the G35 6MT I ran. He said he had a CAI/spacer (tho I heard HFCs or test pipes too) and was running rich. I beat him by 3 cars, didn't seem right.

Satin: Visit your cousin more often! Lol.

Dave_B is right, the G35 does not make much power with all of those mods and will most likely loosing power w/o a tune. The CAI is just for sound and it is actually more of Hot_Air_Intake. Funny thing, most ppl don't do research. Just buy them and bolt on thinking that they add more power from the manufactures claims.

thanks for the advice. what is the ideal rpm to shift gears for this car if he uses the sport shift?

hmm seems like the mods on both cars are pretty evened out. i have an 04 tl auto(2.5 piping, j-pipe, intake) and raced a friend who has an 04 g35 2dr auto(exhaust and intake) from a roll(10~15mph) going slightly uphill and i started to pull at the top of second. he let off when i had around a car length which was around high 3rd. although he did have one passenger but im sure it wouldnt have made such a difference.

why dont you just race him and see the results for yourself dont forget to tell us what happened too

Damn that's slow for a nicely modded Auto TL.

'03 Auto G35 Sedan and Coupe are slow too, but not as terrible as the Auto TL.

EDIT: You might have a chance against the G35 "Auto Coupe". It's heavier than the 4 door sedan version.

Different tracks different conditions. I thought you said you knew what DA was? Obviously not haha. If he was in tucson where I am and the DA was 6200ft like it is on a day like today anything would be slow including your Mazdaspeed 3.

On the other thread you said the coupe was slow but the sedan wasn't. A little double talk there ha.

They run the same 1/4 mile times. Go on dragtimes and do some research.

the g35's are quick, their rwd system gives it more of a push than your fwd and i think the g35's are lighter
