Who keeps license plate in the front in NJ?
I was just wondering how many NJ TLers keep the license plate on their front? and those that doesn't did you get pulled over and fined??
My girl's getting her plates soon. Just wondering if I can not put front license plate on, and leave just the rear.
TIA!!
James

i live in sacramento, california. I've been driving my car for 1 1/2 months with no front license plate. When you get a ticket here its just usually a fix it ticket, and its a $10 fine.

I just took delivery of my TL (6spd/NAV) and specifically requested to the dealer that they do not install the front plate bracket. The car looks great without a front plate.
I'll take my chances with the NYPD! A ticket is a small price to pay for having such a good looking car. The TL is one of the more conservative cars on the road, so hopefully they won't notice. I had a 350Z before the TL and trust me that car attracted attention. I used to get pulled over for no reason at all.
LEAVE THE FRONT PLATE OFF AND ENJOY THE CAR!!!!!!

I actually think it looks better with the plate on. I like it better without it on my 2nd generation. Two problems I have with the way it looks witout the plate..
1. The Acura name on the front bumper looks a little bit Pontiac/Ford-esque, and the plate covers it up.
2. The front of the car looks vacant without the plate, because the whole design of the air intake ports allows for the center section to be covered with the plate. If their were a center section to the lower front bumper, it would look more balanced without the plate.
3. Without the plate, the front looks way too generic. Like it could be a Civic, TSX, or Accord.
4. And of course, the front plate will help protect your bumper from being damaged by parallel parkers who will back into you. This greatly reduces the likelihood of those little round punctures you can get from other cars' license plate screws.

Other may differ but IMHO and experience driving without a front plate is a very efficient way to ensure you are pulled over by LE often. It is a black and white MV violation and give LE a excuse to look things over for DWI or Drugs etc.

Here in CA the reg. stickers are on the rear plate (i.e. nothing on the windshield), and you're supposed to mount all of the plates you are issued for a vehicle. That includes a front plate for passenger vehicles. I agree with Shoot2Thrill that putting it on might be annoying, but is probably a good idea not to give them cause to pull you over for any reason.
I finally got my plates last weekend and I had to put on the front holder since the dealer didn't do it. It is a little tricky, you do need to drill holes in the bumper after you remove the plugs. They are not pre-threaded. You also need to drill holes in the holder to mount the plate. Still took only about 10-15 mins to do myself.

PA Police can only enforce PA Motor Vehicle laws. Therefore, you can not be pulled over in PA for driving a NJ registered vehicle that isn't displaying a front plate.

I would keep the front plates on myself, imho.
I agree with accuraddict. The car looks better with the front plate on.
As fast as this car wants to go, I wouldn't chance it to attract the attention of the cops to go without a front license plate. Someone who would normally be unnoticed going at maybe 10mph over the speed limit would catch the attention more without the plates. (Many go with the flow of the traffic and a bunch of freeways do run fast. e.g. 287 is normally ok to run 80mph even if it's a 65mph speed limit because everyone runs at that speed)

I had a Prelude for a year without plate.....No Problem, evenwhen I was pulled over for racing a bit on the local street.
I have 02 Outback L.L. Bean for 2 and 1/2 years...never pulled over.
Got 04 TL in 3 weeks ago and got the plate last week...just put rear one...not pulled over yet....
When I was yourng (early 20's) and had Civic and Integra with groud effects and exhaust....was pulled over few times...
I feel if you put dark tint, chrome wheel, performance exhaust, and anything attracts cops.....be careful...
