WI - Its a law but i was only pulled over once back in highschool with my 240sx. My mom has been running her Trans Am with no plate for 6+ years and all of my cars have no front. If they pull you over you just get a fix-it ticket.

Chicago suburbs here have mever used a front plate on any of my cars in the 14 years I have been driving. Got a no plate ticket 12 years ago in high school that was the one and onloy time I have ever been hassled. They arent too worried about that kind stuff in IL except maybe in the city but I rarely go there.
No front plate for me.

I live in NJ but I kept my plates CT as my permanent address. I do business in both states. CT used to not have a plate law but now it does. Cops in other states may not know this. I used to think CT cops are bored and pull you over for no reason. They really aren't that bad (save the state troopers who will try and give you 5 tix at once.) NJ cops are super hyper and CT plates keeps them off my back; nope never for speeding, always vehicle equipment violations....oooo they DO NOT like my car!
I lived in IL when I first bought my TL and I know cops were adamant about front plates, they will ticket your car even when PARKED for this!
I moved back to the east coast and have been running no front plate for 3 yrs now. I've been pulled over about 8 times in that time period and cops have never mentioned the plate. I keep it in the trunk and I have a few excuses to tell the cop:
1) It fell off when bumped by a small accident (I have proof) to the front bumper and I'll put it back on. I keep a screwdriver in the trunk.
2) I am from CT![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I thought of the stealth motorized plate idea.....But then again if you read the law carefully it does say that the plate should be affixed and immobile. They could still ticket you based on that.

Maryland requires it and I run mine right now because my car is mostly stock and I don't want to hassle with it right now. I drive way too much so my risk would be increased if I didn't have it. When I move in about a year and get throw an aspec kit on my car I will run without.

Texas requires them but I'm a rebel and I dont have mine on. I've gotten pulled over but they just give me a warning. I have it inside my trunk if the cops ask I just tell them that it just fell off ![Wish](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wish.gif)

Keep Right Except to Pass
Virginia requires one, but the real reason I keep the front plate on both cars is driving into DC. DC will ticket you for not having a front plate if your state requires a front plate and you don't have one. No joke. Their ticket-writers are ruthless, too. I knew a guy who put the "month" and "year" stickers on the wrong side of his Virginia plates ("month" is supposed to go on the left, "year" on the right) and a DC ticket-writer gave him a ticket for "improper display of a license plate." The odds of not getting ticketed if you are a Virginia resident who leaves off the front plate and drives into DC regularly (as I do) are extremely low.

Well i use it because i have a license plate frame that gots spikes because of all the tight parking there is around my way so no one likes to park close to me. If i didnt have the frame on, my bumper would've been long time gone, i hate the front license plate but is saving me a lot of paint damages hehe.

What if you filled the front license plate hole notches with some filler and make it look like they didn't make a spot for it?? I know it's a long shot but wth! At least it would make the officer do a double take...lol

the office would prolly say something like "Well i don't care, you better drill or screw it in if you don't want to mess with the law" lol true story.

NY- Obviously required as mentioned previously.
I've run without one for almost two years, and I've never had any issues (knock wood!) It seems other people seem to have more of a problem with it than the cops. "WHY don't you have a front plate?" "You NEED a front plate, don't you know that!?"
Never been pulled over for it, but I think it helps that I have boobies lol

CO. required but dont use it either!
"NetDiver" front bumper of yours looks clean!!! My TLs front bumper is dinged with rock chips. Getting it painted this summer when i get the A-spec front lip spoiler.
Really like the raised letters, where can i purchase those from?

I live in Virginia (req) but cars registered in SC (not req).
So I run without it and I love it. When I move back to NY though in a year I most likely will put one on so I don't have to deal with getting pulled over. If I do decide to put it on though most likely I will get a bracket and move it to a side so I don't cover up ACURA

Thanks Clean06TL, I got the raised letters from Automotive Concept website, but I think they no longer carry them. You can try Autoall.com website. I haven't had any experience with their products, but from the description, it sounds similar to the ones I have.

I don't use it and I live in California. I just got a ticket for it the other day by parking enforcement while my car was just parked on the street. Its just a fix it ticket though. $10. So it's not that bad.
