I don't think the rears should be white. You should left them red. I don't know the law where you live but here in ny that's a ticket real quick. The fronts can stay white but can't blink white they have to be amber to blink. You should look into doing the fronts as switchbacks. Gerzand did his like that and they look good. All in all though your markers look good, good job.

Only if they blink. Steady on is fine.

I like white in the front so that it matches the switch backs and red in the rear so that it matches the tail lihts.

Here are my switchback sides. I kept the rears red. These are the first DEPOs modified to be switchbacks (that I am aware of). Many of you may wonder "Why DEPOs?". The answer is that the lenses have more of a "crystal" effect and look really nice and bright. They also appear darker when not lit, which goes with my theme more than OEM markers. I'm very happy with them.

IMO, those depot sidemarkers are ugly and cheap. Take the 20 minutes and do the mod. It's super easy.

Besides, you don't want Depot in the front and OE in the back. They look totally different.

i just read it all and this is almost ridiculously easy. ill order the led strip tomorrow, the only challenging part seems to be taking the marker apart for the first time, same approach as in this thread, just go at it with a razor?

Check these out. This is a really easy alternative...and they're switchbacks.

That's probably what he meant: https://www.uniquestyleracings.com/i...product_id=457

Not bad, but $120 is a lot. It would be much cheaper to DIY, for example using circuitry from:
https://www.amazon.com/iBrightstar-Switchback-Projector-Replacement-Daytime/dp/B077P5CDSX/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1519261985&sr=1-4&keywords=7443+switchback https://www.amazon.com/iBrightstar-Switchback-Projector-Replacement-Daytime/dp/B077P5CDSX/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1519261985&sr=1-4&keywords=7443+switchback
or just any other switchback bulb.

Sorry about that. Thanks peter6.

Most of the time, I stray away from recommending Depo lights, especially headlights. They're often cheaper and not sealed properly. However, my side markers have been working great for 2.5 years now without issues. The side marker housings come with a switchback wire that you can easily connect to your turn signal triggers and the side marker covers are cleared and smoked, which looks better than OEM in my opinion.

Back in 2015, I was on the fence with these, but really wanted the switchbacks when I first bought my car. I was younger and more impatient. Now that I'm more experienced with electrical work, I probably would attempt to do this myself, because it would have been a fun challenge.

You can't go wrong either way IMO.

I'm probably the minority, but I always thought the front side markers always being lit were tacky given their location. In my opinion they're better off as turn signals (like most European cars of that era) vs on with the parking lights so I just rewired mine like that.

I have the white side markers, they were still being produced 2-2.5 years ago at least. I did put a thin coat of clear RTV around the edge of the lenses for added weather resistance. I think I paid $60-70 for front and rear. The front illuminate Amber, the rear, red.
