White cloth on inside door panel

I just brought home a new '08 TL and notice there is this white cloth material coming out of the drivers side door panel on the sides, and also on the top when the window rolls up.

I tried pulling on it but it appears to be attached to something and only ended up ripping some of it and now I can't get a get hold on it. Anyone know what this is, and if its important?

It's not important. They tuck that into the doors when they are assembled. It covers the interior side (inside cabin) of the door to protect it during transport. Rip it out of there if you can, if you can't just tuck it down in the door.

don't pull, don't rip, be gentle, if anything cut it away, or try to gently tuck it in.

I had that thing sticking out too. The dealer took care of it. Kinda tacky if you ask me.

I just ripped, they are really nothing but, as you said, white cloths.

You're right "rip it out" wasn't the best word choice. What I meant to say was "pull gently but firmly." It is designed to be pulled out.
