Is there a brick-and-mortar store in the Bay Area that carries Amsoil? Also, is the recommend type 0W-30? This is for a 05 5AT.

You can try looking up local dealers. My buddy has a dealer account with one so he gets it pretty cheap. Most performance shops and so on should carry amsoil.

frmo what i've seen, mainly BMW's used the 0w's..

recommend type is 5w-20. but i use Royal Purple 5w-30 since that's what they carry at walmart for about 6.71/qrt or so.

I'm a dealer and I run the 5w20 in my car. I dont race or push this car very hard though. I could get it shipped to you and can get you a really good price, but if you can find a local shop that stocks large quantities of it you maybe can find a slightly better deal. The shipping is what brings the cost up.

Looks like I'll be getting either the 0W-20 or 5W-20... Probably the former as my existing Mobil 1 already gets 7500 miles...
