Where is the darn oil filter????
I'm going to change the oil and filter myself this time. But.... got under the car, and tried to find the oil filter ??!!!! Ok who moved it. Does anyone out there know where they put it on the 05 TL? And, how do you get the plastic plate off the underside. There are 2 screws, and a bunch of plastic looking rivets. I've tried prying them turning them, pushing them, yelling at them....swearing at them.....they still wont come off. OK what gives? Any help please from somebody whose been where I am at the moment. Thanks

there was a thread on here about changing oil with a bunch of pictures and step by step instructions, do a search to see if you can find it.
found it(at least I think this is it, there may be more):

It's on the passenger side (last I remember), but it's above a structural piece. You will see it once you get under there. Bring a light with you.

Found the OIL Filter
Thanks....that was a great post on changing the oil. Found the filter, now I know where to look. By the way, I don't need to but what about getting that plastic pan affair off, how do you undo (remove) those large looking plastic rivety things?

Dude, what are you doing? You dont need to take the plastic pan off if you're changing your oil. You do if you're chaning your trann fluid. Make sure your not removing the wrong bolt.

Oh, sorry...just read your other post about just wanting to know how to get it off. I think there is a special acura tool that they use to get them out fast and easy. You have to work at it with a flathead screwdriver. Gotta pry the center pieces up and they pop out.

Thanks thats it, pull out the center and the whole thing comes out. I know I don't need to remove them to change the oil.......but that was before I found the oil filter. I thought it might be up there "hiding". Thanks again.
