the computer says my oil life is at 30% right now.. i was just curious as to when you guys actually get your oil changed at.. or better yet what percent of oil life do you guys let it get down to? my brother has an 06 accord and waited all the way til it said 0 i think... or 10.

also what kind of oil did you guys use?

I just follow the recommendation of the MID. I let it go to >10% or less and considering the fact that the engineers designed the calculation based on dino oil and the fact that I use synthetic I have no worries about the interval. Because I do so much highway driving (41,000 miles in 18 months), my oil change intervals determined by the computer are usually around 7-8 thousand miles.

5k max and with the synthetic I'd do 7k max...my 2 cents....

is it bad to have oil past the max line on the dipstick? i just recently did an oil change and checking the level, its actually above the max line, but not by much

im prob just being paranoid but will this cause harm to the car?

More than likely, a slight overfill will do no damage to your engine. However, the next time you change the oil, put in 4.5 qts rather than the full 5 qts.
