Wink What's your occupation [that allows you to post throughout the day]?

Curiousity has gotten the best of me today; it's dreary, cold, and I've been here since 6:45am.... what do you do for a living that allows you to take the time to post here throughout the day?

For me...
Well...I head a government agency (and yes...the tax payers DO get their money's worth from me! I promise! ). I figured that since I don't take lunch breaks, the time I spend online on this board, makes up for that.

Research IT and software programming. Also always on the computer. Currently, no new projects that demand intensive concentration. I check Acurazine when I get weary.

Financial analyst with internet access at the office...work to do or not, I pop in through out the day. In fact, I only visit M-F during work hours as I got rid of internet at the house.

A county municipal solid waste and recycling office; although I don't directly deal with trash itself (regulation, compliance, etc.)...I'm known around these parts as the "Trash Queen" - LOL. A gal in a male dominated industry; I need this type of thing to break the day up here and there!

Why I can be on line all day long :-)

I'm a shipbroker. Assuming, as usual, most people don't know what that is: I do contracts between cargoes and ships (big bulk shipments of grain, ore, fertilizers etc worldwide). It used to be quite busier before the internet (very slow via telex, fax and a lot of phone calls have been substituted with computers with email and not needing to re-type anything and more IM and less phonecalls).

So since am full time on the computer I fill in the gaps with websurfing and also now selling stuff on ebay (more to enable myself to sell Minolta equipment and buy new/better lenses etc since my hobby is photography)

Brgds

I too head a governmental agency and this, since I am a new TL owner, has become my refuge from the ugly world of politics and bureaucracy. The way I see it they have two choices: they can pay for a psychotherapist or they can allow me this time to disengage.

By the way, I love this car!!

I design custom homes for a living. Acurazine allows me to take an occasional mental break throughout the day, which really helps get the creative juices flowing sometimes when I just can't seem to think of a good design.

I'm a network engineer. I basically sit here all day and wait for something to break. Somedays I have so little to do I actually feel like I might reach the end of the Internet.

I'm a software engineer for a major defense contractor, though the project to which I am assigned is not national defense.. the client is the U.K. I am generally to damned busy at work (we tend to run in crisis mode most of the time because of the work load) to spend any time on this site. I do go on when I'm sitting at my desk eating lunch.
