What's it worth?

Its time to start looking at an upgrade, or a lateral shift into a truck, either means selling the TL. !!!
its an 06 TL 6MT with ~110k miles. Everything is stock and in great condition for a car this old.
KBB is landing it around $6,700 which was a bit..... discouraging.
Is that the reality here? Because they packed so much car into these TL's and they age so damn well, I keep forgetting how old the car actually is. It looks and drives better than a lot of sedans that have 8 years on it. but I digress.
i appreciate your feedback

on another note- my wife wants out of her focus and into an MDX.... the search begins....

Sold my 2005 TL 6MT with 128k miles for $7,500 two months ago. One scratch on the rear quarter panel, otherwise body and bumpers were perfect. Best guess is that you could sell the 6MT for a slight premium to an Automatic transmission, maybe $8k.

$6,700 sounds about right if you are going to sell it on your own, may be mid 7's if the condition is really great.

You can expect around $5,000 or so if you trade it in to a dealer when buying a new car.

IMHO you will be lucky to get that much. If you find the right person who wants a manual TL specifically then yeah it is totally worth that much. To me it is worth that much. But when I looked into selling my 04 6spd I got low balled until I no longer wanted to sell it.

Thing is the average guy doesnt realize that the 6spd model gives you an extra gear, better suspension, better mileage and acceleration, etc. They just see it as a pain in the ass to learn or the opportunity to inherit some other guys bad clutch while assuming everyone who drives stick does burnouts with clutch dumps or that they dont know how to use them. I have actually had two people try to tell me they thought the clutch was slipping because they didnt understand dual mass flywheels, auto adjusting clutches, and stupid check valves that slow your clutch engagement.

On top of that if you take it to any car lot or dealership they will try to tell you it is worth LESS than the auto, because the auto is usually an option and therefore will give you less trade value. I have also had dealerships try to tell me that "3rd gen TLs are known for bad transmissions". I demanded my keys back and walked straight out the door at that place. Shame is I bought a car there at one point....

I just bought a near showroom condition 2006 TL 6-Speed with 114,000 on the clock and after five months of shopping I was compelled to pay $10,000 for the car. I kissed so many toads in those five months I was actually happy to pay that much for the right car. I say if you're in no hurry and your car is a clean as you say, you should easily be able to get $9,000 or more for it. FWIW, one car I was looking at was a 2006 TL 6-Speed with only 20,000 miles on the clock; the guy got $14,000 for the car.

I agree with njp. Dealer will probably offer $5k on trade. If the car is mint you might get $7k from someone looking for a 6sp TL. Not many people want to pay a lot for a 12 year old vehicle.
