Whats this part?

I was changing my 36162-RDV-J01 VALVE, PURGE CONTROL SOLENOID and the cylinder shaped thing attached to the hos that goes to it was not on its bracket. I can blow or suck either direction through it .. Anyone know what it is ? Numbers on it are 5. 07. 11

I replaced something on an 03 Celica that looks almost exactly like this, and matches your description of air flow. It is called a vacuum tank but I can't find it in a list of Acura parts. I think it's part of the HVAC vacuum system.

Don't think so... Its inline with the purge control solenoid valve . No where near the HVAC system. Its just over an inch long and about an inch in diameter.

That hose goes to your EVAP canister. The part on your intake is the purge control solenoid valve.

The little part is the purge joint.

Think the little guy is supposed to be one way but not sure, was doing some reading about it before since I recently replaced my purge control solenoid valve as it went out. The joint is only $8

BTW the part 36166-PAA-A01 JOINT, PURGE up in Canada prices out at over $100 ... makes me wonder if #9 isn't different.

Let me know if its the right item .. because I can't seem to link it in the parts references to the PCV solenoid.

If I had an Acura dealer close by I'd drive over and have them identify the part. Unfortunately the closest is 4 hours away.

The solenoid is listed separately on the dealer sites.

Also not to be confused with the PCV valve which is in the front cylinder head cover near the alternator.

Here:

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

The other end of the hose from the purge valve connects to one end of the solenoid and the other goes to the intake manifold just behind the throttle body.
