Is the badge just added later? It doesn't seem to have ANY type-s features. Exhaust pipes, Sidemarkers, body style, wheels, manual transmission, jesus fish, etc?

Honestly just from the pics that is NOT a Type S at all. Looks totally base model, with just the badge added on. Wheels not right, tail end not right, don't think I even see the 4 exhaust tips. Color looks off too.

 

elementary Watson, it quite simply is not a type s. look at tail lights, wheels, lateral signal lights.

take a look inside at seats and steering wheel. im sure it'll be base as well

It's the wrong year 3G TL for a Type-S, which came out only in 2007 and 2008. The Type-S did come with either 5AT or 6M, though.

The car is either an '04 or '05 TL, based on the absence of TPMS sensor cutout on the wheels.

Pretty sure there was no 04-06 desert most metallic Type S's lol. Nothing to see here except a 2G Type S badge was added. I would HIGHLY doubt no one went into buying that car thinking it was a Type S.

The dealer wouldn't list it as a Type-S either and slap a badge on it.

 

No way was this vehicle listed as a Type S at an Acura dealership. Dealerships are stupid, but not that stupid.

Those badges probably add an ounce each and so the car weighs more and is slower.

Maybe the car is an 04 and back in 04 it was cool to buy an 04 TL and say its like having a typeS 2nd gen? Stupid no matter how you cut it. Is this a car you just saw and took a picture of or is it just an online picture?

 

There are no tan/gold Type S's. None.

Saw a guy pull up in a TL at a gas station recently. NBP, aftermarket black wheels, 4-tip exhaust, Type-S badge (the correct one), A-spec skirts and front... but the tails were the 05 solid red.

I told the guy nice car and I was in the market for one. Said he got it last November from a dealership in the area.

Asked him if it was really a Type S because the tails were wrong (but everything else looked right). He said he didn't know; some guy before had modded it with exhaust and wheels, etc... I then asked what the color of all the gauges and displays was; red or blue?

He said blue. And I was like Ah-HA! Imposter!

Interior lights color gives it away every time.
