Sorry to hear that man, try to look at the bright side- you can get a new paint job, or a new project car to start fresh on.

I know this would be the perfect time for a new color but I actually like the oem NBP, and I just feel like going a custom color is only if you have a heavily modified car

I agree with keeping it black but if it were me I would use this opportunity to get rid of the blue metallic crap.

But I have definitely changed my parking situation to avoid any more situations like this.

I will definitely be working with the body shop so they know what I'm expecting and I do plan to prep it for them a bit by removing some window trims, door handles, etc for them. Not saying I don't trust the shop or anything but I just like it knowing that I am putting everything back on with oem bolts/screws in the right place.
I remember reading another thread that your car got stolen not too long ago, and you were able to recover the car, and the thieves were caught? that was you right? i would really think it's those same a-hole just finishing jail time and came specifically to help your car with some low grade art work .

I am a Painter in the Auto Body business going on 15 years. Whomever told you they were going to spot weld and wipe the holes is nuts. First, I would keep the car and fix it. Second, Demand they put skins on all the damaged panels that have holes. Third, if the job is done at a reputable shop and done properly, you will be happy you kept it. Just my

x2 on new skins. A couple years ago a lady backed into our TSX and dented the driver's rear door. I went to a few shops and demanded a new door skin put on, but they all wanted to "repair" the damage. I finally found a shop that would do it and it came out perfect, none of that bondo crap. Sorry about your car man, hope all works out well.

With all the repairs will there be a salvage on the title now? Just askin cause I don't know how that
works when selling the car.

I actually didnt know about that option(putting a new skin), I'll look into it.

salvage title is only issued when the car is damaged beyond a certain point that it isn't economically worth it to fix. the limit is anywhere from 50-80% depending on insurance
I have friends who bought salvaged title cars. I think it's just the paper title itself will say it's salvaged and it will show on DMV, and obviously insurance will give a lot less value to a salvage car, but other than that buying and selling should still be the same process

OMG... I was thinking the same thing. Figure out if it was something you did to someone and it was retaliation. Doesn't matter whether you get it totalled out, repaint, etc. If you dont fix the issue that was the cause of the problem, they'll be looking for their next chance to F-up your car you work hard for. Before I did ANYTHING, I'd buy a video cam to watch the car.

People's cars get keyed and vandalized every day. I would say 95% of the people don't get caught because it happens so quick and no one usually has any evidence. It's a cowardly act and that's why they do it. If someone really has a problem with me, they can talk to me in person. If they want to vandalize my car, I'm just going to get a laugh out of it because it shows how immature and scared they are.
This is why insurance exists, so people will be covered from vandalism acts. Worrying about this is like worrying about getting into a car accident. If it happens, then it happens, and just go through insurance.

I wouldn't waste my time figuring out who these pests are. I alrdy filed a police report, if anyone wants to "figure it out" go for it lol.

car de-trimmed ready for repaint. the lower window trims were a PITA to remove and I will be re-wrapping them during this time since they are kinda faded.
I removed:
hood chrome trim
front grille
front bumper air intake ducts
foglights
all 4 lower window trims
all 4 sidemarkers
both side mirror led blinkers
door sills
front lip
rear lip
side skirts(not shown)
decklid spoiler(not shown)
Acura trunk badge

I haven't commented on this as I didn't see the thread- good job saving your car- she's a beauty! It would be a shame to total such a nice ride. Paint looks fantastic! Hopefully Karma will catch up with the douche(s) who did the original damage to the car.
