what type of gas?

i just picked up my 06 tl last week. i used to own a 99' civic ex and a tank of gas lasted me a week and a half. i've been putting super gasoline in the acura. not only do i feel like the uses alot of gas but it's expensive. i was thinking about using plus gas, is this ok?

sorry.... you can use whatever gas you want but its recommended that you use gas with 91octane cause of the hi compression engine blah blah.

you should put 91 octane or higher gas in the car just like it says on the tank flap. Your car won't explode or anything if you put lower octane in, but you might see decreased performance and fuel economy. It was designed to operate with 91 octane, and it's not the same engine as the civic.

Some will tell you that if you can't afford "super" gas, then you shouldn't have bought the car. It's a rough comment, but I would tend to agree. Over the course of a year the extra money from high octane gas is not really that much. Maybe it will cost you an extra hundo over the course of a year.

No kidding.

Maximum difference in the cost of a tank of gas (based on having to refill all of the 17.1 gallons of fuel tank capacity):

Five cent increments / ten cent increments

Using Plus: $0.86 / $1.71
Using Regular: $1.71 / $3.42

You're not going to save much using a lower octane gas.

your gas mileage will improve as the car breaks in. IMHO you should use premium.

That's what I use!... you already paid a pretty penny for the car, may as well treat it right to ensure it treats you the same and lasts.

I have an Accord V6 and I can feel the difference when I use the premium vs lowest octane. I'm sure its been written a lot here, but here goes- if you drive a TL you should be able to afford 93 octane gas.

Check the 3G Garage thread, which is linked in big letters at the top of the main 3G forum screen. There are a lot of threads on this issue in there and they will likely provide more information than you'd ever imagine. That's why people gave somewhat snide responses here.

Moderators, might I suggest.....
