1. Looks. Especially the white diamond pearl color.
2. Engine. (would be better with a 6mt but the auto isn't horrible)
3. Value and for money. People think it is a much newer and more expensive car than it actually is.

1.) Styling. It's conservative and still looks great today (interior/exterior).
2.) J32. I'm a Nissan guy, but have always had an appreciation for the J series engines. They're smooth and make great power.
3.) Handling. I have an '06 with 79k miles and it still feels tight and crisp at 9 years old. Not too shabby for a heavy FWD car.

1.) Features, I love my navigation capabilities. Which saves battery life on my phone.
2.) The body style, the car just seems ahead of its time. I've been asked many times if my car was a newer model such as 08 or 09. Instead of its true self. (2006)
3.) Headlights, you cannot truly appreciate the LED headlights until you go through a truly dark area. Just great technology!

I have to say, now that I've been a TL owner for several weeks, the backup camera is a great asset. At first I thought I wouldnt pay much attention to it, as every car I've owned in the past did not have one, but it sure does help

1. Body style/color; any 3rd gen TL looks awesome, but the TL-S in Moroccan Red Pearl is my favorite!
2. The incredible sound system and auxiliary port to plug in my phone.
3. The rear backup camera really has come in handy for me as well.

1) Looks, looks, more looks. Gorgeous car, and after getting some paint work done, most people will think yours is much newer than it really is. I regularly get "Its 10 years old?! HOW?!"

2) What you get for the price - I bought mine for less than many Accords and Camrys go for, with low mileage (less than 60k miles) and excellent service history for a mere 13 000. Its also less to insure in Ontario than any car I could dig up for a 21 (now 22) year old, so this was one of the main reasons I bought the car.

3) Performance and Sound - Its no powerhouse, but she gets up and moves, especially once you've done some bolt ons, and after an exhaust, jpipe and intake, she sounds the part. I've gotten a number of compliments in that regard as well.

Awwwww. This made me love my car even more!

1) it's combination of performance, styling, efficiency, reliability, and comfort.
2) it's still a head turner 8-12yrs later, "She still looks like a million dollars every time I walk away from her." mmhmm.....
3) she makes me smile every day, every time I think about her, talk about her, look at her, work on her, or drive her

So many people stray from Honda after owning a 3G TL (so I've seen from reading a thread on the topic), and this is sad to me. Possibly because it's probably one of the best 3 cars Honda has ever made? But I could never stray from Honda since owning this car. Next car will probably be an S2000, then another, but far newer with as low miles as possible 3G TL, then perhaps an MDX/RDX for winter and mod it, then hopefully an older NSX....anywho....

1. luxurious interior (Comfortable seats, smells new, roomy, lots of electronics, navi, ext temperature, mpg gauge, camera, indash 6 cd changer, xm)
2. Exterior styling still looks good compared to new cars.
3. Mechanical: engines last a few hundred thousand miles or longer, and has been very predictable for the past 40k miles..Only the starter & battery kept it from not starting. And it still idles like new!

But don't like the general looseness of the suspension and the engine does not romp or torque like a v8. From a stop it is pretty good, but otherwise, it takes the transmission some time to downshift and the engine doesn't always hit it as instantly as I like. You gotta wait on it just a little bit. I had to adjust my driving habits when I got this car. In other words, I had to allow for more time to get up to speed, compared to my 1997 Z28. But this TL has a lot more bells and whistles inside.

I know exactly what that means. The "lag" from stepping on the pedal to downshift, and the car actually getting up to speed. Thats my biggest complaint with Honda automatics

I've owned many Toyotas, and their automatics shift better. But their cars are also not as exciting or fun to drive as Honda

you know, the weird thing is that during my trial of the Redline racing fluid, when I initially changed the fluid, it took the engine a while to get used to the new fluid and for a short while after I added the racing fluid, the transmission would shift really fast.. And the engine had no problem keeping up with it. So, it would really "haul" when you can get that transmission to shift a bit quicker. But something in the programming of the ECM will make it relearn and slow it back down to "normal". I wish there was an old fashion shift kit or something we could put in these cars.. Like who needs a dual clutch if you got a shift kit. haha Just a theory. But the old fashion shift kits would break your tires free in 2nd gear easily. Anyway.. I'm all for a faster tranny. The engine is only as fast and the gearing. Like taking off in 2nd gear yield little power/torque. The transmission can hold back good performance.

I remember years ago, how much more I loved my Pontiac when I installed a shift kit in it. lol. Felt almost like a whole new car. I was loving it

Sad to hear about the ECM slowing things down. If it didnt, I'd be tempted to also try Redline

1. Looks- inside & out
2. Performance and handling for the size and type of car
3. Ergonomics & storage. I feel very connected with the car. The 3G has more and nicer storage than the 4G or TLX.

It's those 3 things that keep my happy with almost 10 years of ownership. The maintenance has been pretty good; however, I have had a couple of electrical issues in the trunk area (license plate and tail lights). It's been a an easy 9 years of ownership in retrospect.

3. This car has all the reliability of a Honda with a much sturdier body.

2. A comfortable, thoughtful, and roomy interior.

1. A beautiful body that remains one of the best on the road today.

Sounds like you need a 3G TL Manual! They're autos were junk in this era. I opted for the manual solely because I'll always opt for manuals, but regardless, this manual tranny is lovely & unique, while the autos were junk. Sad to say. I love Honda, but sadly it's true.

Off Topic.New Member Limited use allowed HELP, Please.. Need to Post . Thanks Everyone before handHey man my name is Nick from Tampa Bay, I just bought a 2004 TL from Craigs for $5125 at 111k, Have a new born and need something Safe and still sporty at the same time... I took it to local mechanic and checked out with weak power steering pump and bent rim, dark oil color tranny fluid .... drove a few miles felt smooth and positive...I decided to buy the vehicle.. On my way home I started to feel the shimmer/stutter/shutter (all names used in threads) at about 22-25 mph, then airbag light came , not to mention radio was a very low Max of 40... so not sure if that's why the Bluetooth (HTC?) wasn't working...Typical luck, not bad karma just another used car, but, man do I love this one..
So reading several hours of None Stop Info. with killer tutioals
Heres what I still need help with:
1. Doing a 3x3 = decided Redline, now I have a offer for 12qts of D6 for $100 or should I stick to D4 which I read in forum all about and about $150, only one person asked this question, even when searched through Google
D4 Vs D6 = ???

2. Going to change my 3/4 Tranny switches, I see some on Ebay that look identical, with the flush base, around $30 shipped (made in Tw) or Honda brand for $50.... Crown Acura locally wants $75 per switch

Oem off brand Vs Honda (same part #)

I am excited or soon to be frustrated about, installing new caps for the Amp see if that works for the audio, also gonna take my car by to check seatbelt, hopefully bad and replace by dealership

Oh one last thing ... I didnt read about anybody filter ing the fluid to reuse for flush, maybe dumb question, but why not (such as first and second flush)

would post page wide , but didn't find that avenue

Thanks for helping a young Marine in an old mans body, lol
Semper Fi
Nick aka MarineSaltyDog
Oh ya just liked all your feedback, post and encouragement to others, that why I decided to ask...Thanks so much

I could tell you what I hate about it.

1. interior is very cheep, seats crack even if you maintain it as much as you can. i think the older G2 seats are way much better.
2. since i had few other cars in the past, i noticed how plastic and dash doesn't line up with everything. its like put together as glue.
3. the way the windows close on these cars drive me fucking insaine, also the ruber seal that goes around the doors, will brake, leak, make road noise things that drive me crazy about this car that need to be replaced.

Now let me tell you what I do like about it.

1. As everyone knows reliability
2. Parts are cheep
3. looks way much better than many other cars now days on the road
4. easy to mod, and you don't need a lot to make it look good, but again money need to be spend regardless how you look at it.
5. One of the best cars i have own in years. had Audi before and I wont go back to German cars, unless i win a lotto!

I bought a 2008 TL Type S a few months ago and I love it! I've put new Michelin Pilots, new OEM rims, new front bumper, new OEM rear speakers, and new console garnish (cost a damn fortune, but I couldn't stand looking at the scratched up old one every time I got into the car). My first ACURA was a 1991 Legend which got me hooked on Acuras. That car was fantastic! I never could understand why the stopped making them. I'm looking for new things to make my TL better, but I only like stock items, not aftermarket. I need to paint the rotor hubs and calipers that are all rusty. That's next on my list. After that I don't know what to do next. I LOVE THIS CAR!!

1) Looks - My Mercedes dealer just commented on it when I was finished and walking back to the car. "Wow yeah Acura did make some nice cars"
2) DVD Audio and the premium sound system. Don't tell anyone but sometimes I still play my Seal DVD Audio.
3) Self-closing front doors

1) Upgrade. Upgrade in almost every way coming from a 2006 Accord coupe 6mt.(except mpg, close tho).

2) Styling. Always loved the styling, was in search of one b4 I got my Accord out of my price range at the time. Girls seem to agree aswell 😀.

3) Dont know what it is but love the sound the doors make when they shut. Lol
