Let's not speculate gentlmen. My friend's BMW 330Ci with a slight modification is indeed an extremely quick car. However, as I mentioned earlier, my TL can give him a good run but it's not nearly as quick as the 330ci (2005 330ci). With that said, I think the new 6MT G35 Sedan is faster than the TL, but that's just speculating because I don't have a friend who owns such car for a good closed course race.

why the bimmer digs? slightly off topic
You guys that nag BMWs on maint. are crazy. My wife hasn't paid a cent for service because it's included, and her 325xi has been perfect. I've spent 180 so far on A (free) and B service on my TL, and my car has rattles, a drivers floor mat that's worn thorugh in 12 months 'cause it's such crappy carpet, and an airbag outline on the passenger dash.
After owning, washing and driving both, I have to say any part of a BMW is better than just about any part of a TL. I don't mean looks, which are subjective, but think of anything, and a BMW does it better.
Of course, a 325xi is a pig in a straight line... but damned if it doesn't handle and turn much better than my TL. It also doesn't have Navi, dual climate, xenons, etc... (which is why I got my TL)
It's kind of a shame, but while I do really like my TL, it is just a very well equiped Honda. Not that that's bad at all, but that's what it is.

If a 2005 330ci can outrun you when u are using ur 6MT TL then i think the problem here is ur driving skills because i know people that outrun those cars with the CL-S AT. And i also saw that u had modifications too, what sort of things do you have and also what does the bimmer have. I personally love Bimmers and hope to buy one soon but apart from the new 2006 330i's i dont think i am afraid to take on any other 3 series with my CL. and niether should people with the new TL.

Revolutionary new, compact design supercharger
8 PSI boost with over 320+ BHP at the crank
Special uni-belt with additional rollers
Front mounted intercooler to keep the power high
Front mounted oil cooler. The supercharger has it's own separate oil system with reservoir
6 high flow injectors
Bypass valve
Mandrel bent tubing
High temperature hoses with clamps
K&N air filter
All installation hardware included
Dyno tweaked software included
Warranty on Supercharger Parts
My modification are the following,
Comptech Sway bar, springs, exhaust and AEM cold air intake. I have ASPEC with 6MT. As you can see, my TL isn't a competition for his 330ci, I wouldn't think yours is either.

My friend's 330ci isn't a stock 330ci, it's a blue 5MT 2002 330ci with intake, exhaust, and Supercharged kit consisted

The 30,000 mile tune-up on my M3 was $1,200.00. I still love it, but if you think the maintenance isn't expensive you're crazy.
TheMainEvEnt, that supercharged 330 should smoke the TL and probably give an M3 a good run for its money. If it was a close race your friend needs to go to driving school.

Ahhhh... you ever hear of Shirley Muldowney or Michelle Mouton?
Both could probably outdrive you, me and almost everyone in this forum.

I disagree that the Camaros/Firebirds are so dangerous on a drag race. I feel stupid saying that, but I have beaten several when I've drag raced here in Alabama, (chevy heaven apparently). The most surprising was a silver 98 Camaro SS with t-tops and a real nice exhaust. I hung up at about 3 feet ahead of him until about 40. . . I was ready to lose then, but I started pulling on him again. . . . he hadn't given up either, unless he was just acting. lol.
The newer Mustang Mach 1s are hell above 40 or so, but if you can get the jump on one (or any of the other Mustang GTs before 2005) he's yours. (this is with the 2003 TL-S though. I've driven the '04 and liked the extra torque, but she just isnt mine.)
Also carefully count the number of passengers the other guy has. ;-) Fat ones seem to make a big difference.
Has anybody gone up against a Neon SRT-4? I got shitwalloped by one a few months ago. And i lost in this embarrassing race (twice) to an OLDER Mercedes CLK-540. . . . I was sad. I also lost to a 96 Mustang GT when the sportshift thing got stuck in 3rd gear and i coulda easily been in second. . . [shakes head in disgust]. But that problem is fixed.

Beating up mustang GTs and all kinds of 5.0 + liter v8s. I find that hard to believe with a v6 sedan. Then comes the neon and it kicks ass over the TL weird...

I could be wrong on couple of those cars since I never been to red light racing with all of them.
I would try if it was a rolling start against a camaro

Did you drag race that 98 Camaro SS with your TL or another vehicle, because I find it really hard to believe any TL can match up with an American V8 like the SS (unless you have serious modification)
