i'm kinda wondering this too. does everyone here just get the maintenance done that's indicated by the MID or what? took a look at the manual but it just says read the MID.

It's pretty much oil/filter change, rotation, and a bunch of standard checks. There's really nothing to be serviced if you're using the MID. It's gonna be AB/12345. Of course if they find something like worn pads, they'll notify you. Besides, service schedule is dependent on the MID and not mileage. If you look at the owners manual, there's no mileage requirement other than the tranny oil change (60K). Some parts under certain condtions are recommended to be changed at a given mileage. If you're paying 5 bills for a 30K servicing, you're getting ripped by the stealership.

I have almost 34K on my 05 TL I never had any major service done with my car. I only get an A1 and B service note on the MID. Should I be concerned too?

There is no such thing as a 30,000 miles service when you have the MID to tell you when to do things.

Go by the MID and change things when it tells you to, but don't get screwed doing a high priced B service, which is really only an oil and filter change and a tire rotation. All the other stuff should be checked anyway so you don't need to pay a bunch extra for it.

yeah, our cars do not need these 15k, 30k, 45k, 60k mile maintenance services. Just go by the MID and your owners manual.

This car, just needs oil changes and rotations.

But you could go ahead and to do tune ups, its up to you.

By the way, what did they say they were going to do for 500.00 bucks?

That's what I wanna know. Even though I am accustomed to paying dealer prices for that type of service, I've never paid $500 for routine service.

at 30,00 miles, you should be looking at a new oil and filter 35 bucks, new air filter and a new cabin filter combined those are about 60 bucks, and a tire rotation. Your service shouldnt really cost you more than say 125. I just did this on my 05TL paid 20 bucks for the air filter another 20 for the cabin and installed them myself, it takes 5 min. So to answer your question order the filters and put them in yourself and get the oil change and tires rotated at the dealer, shouldnt spend more than 40 bucks, its that simple. you can mail the other 450 to me if it makes you feel better though...lol
