What service must i have to get a Loaner~!!!!
What service must I be doing at the dealership to get a loaner for a day or two.
I told the service manager that I wanted to get my rattling fixed at the back my car where the audio equipments were and the two visor in the front of the car. She informed me that for these issue they “usually don’t give out loaner” only for oil change.
Was I bullshitted? I’m a pretty fucking smart guy a oil change service would be only 15 mins of time. They would actually give out a loaner for a 15 min service and not a day worth of service.
So my question is. What service did you go had when you had a loaner?

sounds like a warranty issue to me and they should give you a loaner for that!
i have received loaners for warranty related items. since i have under 30k miles on my 05 i have not done any major service but i am hoping they give me a loaner once i go in for my 30k service.

The dealer where I bought my car has a sign posted saying they will provide a loaner (if available) for any service which requires 2 hours or more of time. Don't know if that's universal or up to the individual dealers (my guess is the latter), but that's what I am seeing here.

I've gotten a loaner for an oil change, b service, rattle issues, and just about anything i bring the car in for so far.
I just tell them i cannot wait and that i have to leave for work.

Good question! I think it may be at each Dealer's discretion.
Davis Acura in PA used to always give out loaners no matter what, even for oil changes. But recently they told my wife that no loaners are available unless for warranty work ( this was a concern of mine as she's pregnant and we have a 4 year old, and sitting in the waiting room can get hectic.)
I called to question it, and they said that Acura cut down on the quantity of loaner cars they have, so they had to set limits. Whether this is true or not, I don't know. But I'm fair and can accept it.
My problem is that oil changes, with appointments, would typicaly take 2+ hours at this dealership, and I made the service manager aware of this.
Since my discussions with them, the services on both of our Acuras have been FANTASTIC - in and out in an hour for the oil changes.
I have an upcoming oil change and fuel relay recall appointment, I hope I didn't just jinx myself!!

I was told by our service manager that loaners are available for all service on a first come first serve basis and by appointment. Essentially, if we wanted to ensure we had a loaner, make an appointment and request the loaner at the time the appointment is made. If we just stopped by, then it would be whether or not they have a loaner available.

Similar case for me, i called in 2weeks ahead of time, loaner car was granted and off I went.
Werid issue was they wouldnt allow me to drive the loaner if you are under the age of 25..... kinda struck me as odd and more so annoyed as I had to bring my dad in.. I pay the car pmts have insurance and I cant even drive the car.

May be state law....they may treat loaners as rentals....?

It's probably more to do with insurance policy than State Law. Many Rental Car companies will not rent to anyone under 25 either, it's a restriction placed on them by the company that insures their vehicles. Essentially, if something happened to the car while you were driving it, their insurance company would refuse to cover the damage if they knew you were under 25 year old. Seems ridicules to me because most full coverage insurance will cover a loaner or rental vehicle driven by the insured. But what can you say, you're pretty much at their mercy!
On the other hand, my 22 year old daughter has been given a loaner when her 07 Civic was in for service, so it's probably specific to each dealership.

i really don't think it's an issue with anyone being 25 of younger! cause afterall you have your own personal car insurance which in term cover ANY rental or non-rental car you are driving!!!!
so prettyy much the dealership is bsing you on that point!

Yea, seems like you got this thing figured out. Usally I just call ahead of time. In most cases they will issue a loaner if you call ahead of time like a week or 2. Just got to be something that will take them like a few hours to complete. But for something like droping off your car all day you should get a loaner. I always did. But only got a loaner once for an oil change, I told them I really needed to do alot of stuff so there comp ride would not cut it.

I'm driving a 07'TSX loaner car right now that only had 100 miles. My car is getting a new steering wheel pump and replaced line, new aluminum trim ,back seat is lifting up, and theres a rattling noise coming from the steering wheel. All of these things are covered under warranty. I've had the car since Tuesday and won't get my car back until Monday.

I've been giving a loaner for having Pohanka, install new rims and tires that I purchased both elsewhere, $98.00. For oil change and tire rotation, I've always waited, but have been offered a loaner.

A good dealer who appreciates business will give you a loaner for anything requiring more than 2 hours of work. Acura of Westchester gives a loaner for any repair, never once making a fuss about it. Your dealer bites cow dung!!

Guys, one of the PRIMARY reasons to buy an "up market" car (Acura instead of a lowly Honda) is BECAUSE THEY DO give loaner cars. If the service writer felt they could do the service in a short timeframe (say 1 hour), then I can (almost) understand the no loaner position but my position would be....."OK, no loaner huh? I'll just charge Acura the same rate I charge my clients for Time and Materials work...$300/hour and see how they like that... Personally, I've NEVER had a problem getting a loaner from the local Acura dealer as long as I planned it in advance.
