What is this object in my trans fluid?

Okay, disclaimer, this is not my car - this is from my fiancees '06 Civic coupe auto. Before you burn me at the stake, I've been trying to post on 8thgencivic for days, but no mod there has gotten around to activating my account....but anyhow, I felt this question is general enough to be asked here, considering the expertise of most of you that frequent these boards.

Previous owner claims that trans fluid changes were kept up to date. Color of trans fluid when car was purchased confirms this. Car continues to shift flawlessly, smoother than my TL even. Year goes by, trans fluid is getting brown, so I decide to drain and fill.

I found this thing at the bottom of the bucket i used to drain the fluid into. This is obviously alarming, considering it's the size of a dime, and I feel like if that got caught in any gearing, it would be catastrophic.

Any idea what it is? Part of a clutch pack perhaps? (assuming this car also has clutch packs)? It has a strange sort of wire running through it. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you all.

We do have mice in the garage occasionally! Lol but seriously, its like a hard, ceramic-looking pebble with a wire-ish material ran through it. It's sitting on my workbench so I'll have to clean it up and get a better pic of it. I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is.
