What is everything I need for a TL-S rear bumper swap

I have an 04 base and I am thinking of doing the rear bumper swap to fit some quad tips.

Aside from the bumper itself, do I need new screws and what not?
I'm trying to price it out. VS going the A-spec lip route.

99% sure that the bumpers are a direct swap. Why not go the Type S Aspec route?

I'm still considering the lip only route.
My color is AM, so lip or bumper, it still needs paint
Looks like the bumper might not cost much more than the lip

it should be a direct swap since all of the clip and screw location are identical.

This is also something I plan on doing to my TL. I have read through a bunch of threads and it seems like the majority of the threads say it is a direct swap. But when you find out please follow up with what you had to buy.

I too also i'm planning in doing this swap too, but i want the OEM muffler's but can't seem to find them, and if I do find them its the whole exhaust. can the mufflers interchange or do I really need the whole exhaust system?

The mufflers are interchangeable. The only difference between the tl and the tl-s exhaust is the mufflers, and cats (high flow). Everything else is exactly the same.

P.S. Bumpers DO NOT COME PAINTED.

so, you're looking at the price of the bumper + paint.
I'm SURE that comes OUT to MORE than just the LIP.

and P.S. the bumpers are interchangeable without any extra hardware.

Just get the lip (it already comes painted unless yours is discontinued) then go with the bumper

My stock bumper has some shitty body work on it from the previous owner, so I will need to buy a whole new bumper either route I go.

Since I was doing the led mod for the taillights and I have the Type S 07-08 rear bumper laying around I slapped it on for you guys to see since you asked. It's an direct swap with your old hardware like bolts and clips, I advise you guys that are doing the swap to buy extra clips for the bumper because of all the rain and the seasons it went thru the clips break easily and it get stuck due to all the dirt.

2005 TL by the way

I was doing an type s rear swap with lip kit, was planning to cut it up and found a really good deal for this rear oem bumper. It was a rare find, $50 for a 07+ TYPE S rear bumper why not......
didnt have enough funds for the lip kit yet since its close to christmas so its just sitting there till i find some funds

This is my lip bought from acktl05 (painted) and magnaflows (had muffler shop stagger the tips), nice alternative to buying a full exhaust.

That's pretty nice, which magma flow exhaust did you get by the way?

Haha wow you have sharp eyes, yes it got bald quick after I lowered my car on Tiens, ate majority of my tread in 4-5 months. Planning to camber the rear and alignment before I get new tires for the rear.

Yeah they did fit perfectly snug in the opening. Wish I had a better pic but the car is gone. Those particular mufflers are Magnaflow 14807.

I was thinking the same thing, but was wondering if someone that's done it (you too, UA6) could explain exactly. So where do you have to cut, the middle grill opening and the exhaust cutouts?

Thanks in advance.
