What does TSX need to beat TL?

6 speed TSX vs. Auto TL.

Obviously TL still faster, but what would TSX need?

Would FlashPro and Intake be enough?

roll or dig? the tl's advantage will be bigger at higher speeds i think. from a dig, you should keep up for awhile with a good launch.

the k24a2 in the tsx actually has a lot of potential. fully built and worked internals, it can make nearly 300whp. but at that point you'd have spent enough money to upgrade to a TL

An auto TL runs 0-60 in 6.2-6.5 and 1/4 in 14.6-14.8 or so.

I don't understand why some of you are acting like im asking how can a TSX beat an M5...

Yo man,

Intake, header, exhaust and flashpro should be enough to hang with a stock Auto TL if not slightly pull on one (IMO), as long as the TSX driver was decent. In reality most TL Autos are running 14.9-15.2 at sea level. The only spot the TSX would easily pull would be if the TL hit 4th gear. No one is really racing past 100mph anyway. If the TL had any mods though, the TSX would be in trouble at that point. Would like to see a good run though!!

the only way the TSX were to beat the TL; if the TSX went forced induction.

500hp on a TSX aint a joke.

TSX just need 20whp in upgrades, that's pretty much bolted-on and a tune.

I love this site - cherry picked magazine numbers rule & reality, really sucks.

Yep, just like every base 6MT runs low 14's @ 99-100. It's a reality check when people actually get their hands on that first slip.

A V-6. Lolz. No, in all seriousness though forget drags. You could do some motor work strip excess weight to make the scales tip in your favor. You should have bought a bigger motor for that. Use power to weight and weight distribution to your advantage. Twisty road through a canyon provided you're not up against a 6mt TL that can get aggressive around corners, you can use the TSX to your advantage. The car is lighter on its feet and can maintain a little more corner speed where as the TL tends to push a little harder. Beyond that the TL is freaking fast in a straight line.

I wouldn't call the TL "freaking fast" in an era where stock 13 second sport sedans and affordable 12 second pony cars set the bar. The 6MT was "pretty fast" for around five minutes back in late 2003, lol.
