What does TL stand for?

Seems like a stupid questions but someone asked me and I didn't know the answer. I perfer car names as opposed to letters and numbers but the TL must stand for something.

(Course you should always search a little more to get a "2nd opinion" :P)

CL stands for Compact Luxary
TL stands for Touring Luxary
RL stands for Road Luxary

My understanding is that when Legend was phased out and replaced by RL & TL, they stood for (drumroll please)

TL- Touring Luxury
RL - Refined Luxury
CL - Coupe Luxury

That was just their opinion that is why is between ' '.

TL, RL, MDX, CL, RSX, TSX....they do not stand for anything. As far as touring luxury....that has always seem to be the most common....as far back as I could think of.

I like Reborn Legend for RL.....

If I had to choose from the answers listed, this one makes the most sense to me. I always thought TL was Touring Luxury while TSX was Touring Sport

I have heard this too from very knowledgable sources. "Totally loaded" is definitely not correct. And the best for "RL" I have ever heard: "Renamed Legend."

OK, I've held back long enough. I've known the official Acura designations all along, but they might kill me for posting them here. Still, I can't keep the secret any longer. These abbreviations were thought up one night in a karaoke bar after some Acura businessmen had had too much sushi, way too much sake, and evidently not enough sex at home. Here they are, folks:

CL = cunnilingus
TL = tittilingus
RL = rectilingus

That last one usually makes people shudder, but hey, after a meal of raw eel and octopus I suppose anything might taste good.

The letters don't stand for anything. Acura just wanted to go with "coded letters" to identify the vehicle. The last vehicle that changed names was the Integra to the RSX...which in Japan they still call it the Integra.
