i think the silvania silverstars are probably the best match for the HIDs and they are ok priced at about 35 dollars. still kinda expensive for a halogen bulb but at least its from a reputable lighting company. i had piaa super plasmas before and they look very close to bmw HIDs but those bad boys were 90 bucks. i would not want to spend that much for a silly halogen bulb again.

I put Sylvania silver stars in and they look very yellow.

So I swap one back for the OEM fog and noticed a big difference with the SS's.

The problem we all have is the fogs sit next to the HID's and any high performance bulb will not match the Kelvin’s of the headlights.

I bought Silverstars for the 9003/H4 headlight bulbs for my wife's Honda Pilot, I liked the whiter light output (not HID white but better than the OEM). However they do not last long 6-9 months for $40/pair.

I bought a pair of "Plasma White" 9003/H4's that I found in Walmart in Florida, they come in a fairly tacky package but these bulbs are only $15/pair and last 1-1.5 years. They do make them for 9006 bulbs.

i remember reading about someone who used "Hoen", (brand name) bulbs and the pictures posted showed an exact match to the HID's after about a week of burning-in.

I intentionally put true YELLOW bulbs in for the fogs. No attempt to match the HID's. If matched, you may get flashed more than you would anyway, from people thinking the double light means "brights." Supposedly, yellow fog lights are more effective in the fog anyway, which is the only time I use the FOG lights. (A search of this site should turn up older posts with links to the bulbs, ordered from Midnightmoose.com.

the problem with the US TL fog lights, is that if you use yellow bulbs, in order to be effective in real fog, the white light should be off, or the white light will bounce against the fog and you lose the advantage of the yellow light.

Fogs cannot be turned on by themselves in the current US model. Unless modified.
