What to do, what to do...
So Acura called me yesterday and wanted to "confirm my intentions" as my car ( 08 NBP TL-S with 39,343 miles) is ending its lease term. I have and still am giving this alot of thought and would like to know some of your thoughts, if it were you...My buyout is $ 21,027.63 to keep this..
[IMG][/IMG]
I will be getting A-SPEC kit and rims if I decide to keep.
Or this....08 G35X 23Kmilage 25K
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
or Finally...2007 M35 50kmilage $23k
[IMG][/IMG]
thanks for any comments Need to let them know by Dec 14

Next month I'll owe under 20K on my TL-S.
but to answer your question, if you like the TL and are comfortable in it then keep it. If you are not, then I say go with the 2007 M35.

Here's why I said keep the TL:
First and foremost, you know it's been properly taken care of. You've had it since new and you are the only one who's driven it. You're taking a gamble on proper maintenance and such with a used car. You can research it all you want, but you won't truly know how a used car was taken care of. Even with receipts of service or whatnot, those don't say if the previous owner floored it everywhere, hit a few curbs, smoked in it a few times, etc etc. To me it's not worth the risk.
Second, those cars are stock. Granted you'll be starting with a blank canvas to make the car your own, but the TL-S is already like that. You've got it looking a certain way and you're willing to let it go? You're not going to get the money back that you've put into it.
Third, while those VQ engines are full of torque and the exhaust note can make you salivate, they aren't worth the crappy MPG. My dad has a 2005 G35x and he rarely gets over 18mpg city and he's a very laid-back driver. On the highway up to PA this past year, he didn't get over 27mpg. The TL, in my experience anyway, has always gotten 20+mpg in the city and right about 30mpg on the highway. 1-2mpg may not seem like a whole bunch, but over a period of a year or so, it adds up quick.
This was all just my of course. I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do

I would choose a car that only I have owned over a used any day. That's not a bad buy-out for your car. Less mileage....
No telling what you are getting into with those other rides. But as it stands, you are in a TL-S that you have cared for and maintained.
Both of those other cars have models that are newer and better looking IMHO.
Good luck with your choice!

In my opinion the most of the people at the time to choose a car just take in consideration how the car looks, wheels or stupid features.Personally when is time to got a new car always I look the quality, reliability and resale value, how it looks, rims, features sure I see these items too but they are in the second place for me.M35 looks great and the G37 too but the TL-S looks great, good resale value and good reliability by my experience. I think Nissan car has to much sensors and when they got a few miles they are a pain in the A...., the resale value isn't bad but not so good like ACURA.
Personally I would choose the TL-S.

I agree with what he said below. I almost said the same thing, but spotted you already put it here. So I don't want to repeat it again.

If it were me I'd try to talk the dealer into a 24 hour test drive. Drive the other two since you already know about the TL-S. See if you find things that you like better than you do on the TL or things you don't like.
Ultimately its up to what you are most comfortable with. It might even be a good idea for you to look at other TLs. YOu may be able to find one for the same as your lease buy out or less but in a different color you may like better, different transmission that you may wish you had and even lower mileage.

Go with your gut feeling man. Don't let people decide for you. Not to sound philosophical, but you should really learn to practice that. Enjoy what you have. Otherwise you could jynx the shit out of it.
You know the pros and cons to both, besides, you're on an acura forum, what did you think was going to happen? hahah
On that note, they're all great machines.

dude i voted for the m35, but im coming from a base tl, maybe if i had to choose between tl-s and m35 id keep it too. the vq has lots of torque but it is true about the gas milage they suck, i had a 2009 maxima sv for almost a year and the gas milage sucked compared to the tl. they are fast though. i say deeply compare both of them and go with the one you feel better owning. you cant go wrong either way man.
im actually in the process of buying a fx35 or fx45 for my wife, i just love the way they look and sound. nissan builds great machines just like honda

Pushed Acura back... have all month ( ya know their dying to get my deal done this month, especially being years end...) gonna give INFINITI a shot to put something together on the G and M, plus they got new selection now... but as i stated, 70% gut telling me its gonna remain with the TL-S

Since your 70% set on keeping the TLS, go to the dealer and tell them that your set on getting the M35 and I'll bet that'll lower your buyback cost. As for convincing you even more, I've had a G20, and still have an old I30 that my dad uses, also had a 2G TL that I traded for the TLS. Out of all those previous cars, I've spent thousands fixing the Infiniti's (2 new gearboxes, 1 in each) and I've spent $0 on fixing the 2G TL. (brakes/wear tear items not included). And I've had all those cars for more than 6 years, all bought used. So that kinda shows you how reliable Infiniti's are compared to Honda's.
