What to do ???

if you could only get one. which would it be aspec wheels or aspec kit? or should wait to get them both?

I would say kit because it makes a big change. As far as wheels, look into other wheels before you get your heart set on the A-specs. There are quite a few other wheels that look nice on a TL and are in the same price range! Check the black market section here as well!

i'm in the minority, but wheels!

my TL before adding the a-spec kit...looked pretty sharp with just the wheels

If the wheels are going to come with new ultra high performance tires I'd go with the rims. I'd love to see how the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports feel on a TL. If you can't afford top notch tires then just stick with the cosmetic upgrades. Suspension upgrades and rims without quality tires is like buying Underarmor workout cloths and then wearing Wal-mart brand shoes to run your marathon.
