What did you do to prepare?
After a little over two months since we put down our deposit, we'll (finally!) be taking possession of our new TL this week. Funny, but I've come to realize that this whole wait was much like expecting a baby. This hit home recently when - after our wiseass 12-year-old son ragged on us for not ordering our car with an underbody kit, wing spoiler, and 22" wheels with spinners - my wife responded, "Now Junior (not his real name), our car isn't born yet, but we still love it!"
So how did you prepare for the arrival of your new car? Here are a few of the things we did...
1) Poured over this forum (kind of like reading Dr. Spock)
2) Anguished over the baby's first pair of shoes...
3) Purchased a Zaino starter kit
4) Bought a Bluetooth phone
5) Bought a bottle of Meguire's Gold Class Leather conditioner
6) Put a TL pic up as wallpaper on the computer
7) Checked out local premium gas prices
Are we sick, or what?

We live in computer age where information is readily accessable at your finger tips. The last car I had so much passion was when I was in HS getting ready for my Z28. The TL gave me that same feeling - like going on a date (I can't remember what that felt like because I've been married so long). You should wall paper your garage.

I practiced that devilsh grin ( you know when you hit the gas and :wow: ) . Also practiced and went through all my reasons for telling cops exactly why I was speeding . . . . . Oh yeah and you might want to prepare yourself for the late night cruises when your baby keeps you up and all you can do is take her for a ride and carfeully but gently hold her/him in your arms to make things better ( you know give and get a little T L C-------YA )

I know what you're going through. I did the following before I even got the car:
1) Cleaned the garage so that I could park my baby in it. This is a huge deal since I have never parked a car in this garage.
2) Bought $100 worth of car care supplies. Also a big deal since I never once washed my last vehicle by hand.
3) Bought 18" wheels, lip spoiler, trunk tray, all-weather mats, and mud guards.
4) Bought new tires and had them mounted on the 18's.
5) Bought 8 DVD-As.
6) Spent at least 1 hour per day on this forum.
Wife was not happy about the time spent on the forum nor the presence of accessories and wheels in the living room.(they could get scratched in the garage)
Now she is not happy about the time spent on the forum and the time spent in my car. Can't win em all.
