What is covered past 48/50,000 in 2006 TL?

When comparing 2005 and 2006 TL on carsdirect.com it says that "bumber-to-bumper" warranty on 2006 TL is the standard 48/50,000 but "major components" is 72/70,000!!

I wonder what is covered by "major components"?? Engine? Electrical?
And also, is really only new on 2006 TL? 2004/2005 are out of luck if something breaks past 48/50000?

My 2004 TL is nearing 40,000 miles so I am very interested in this info

I think what they mean with major is "Motor" and "Tranny" for 70 K on the new 06's...

for 04's you can buy extended warranty before you hit 50 K for I think $1200.

Yup. They extended the powertrain warranty for 06 MY. Probably because the 2G tranny problem is becoming widely known...

Don't wait too long if you're going to get the extended warranty. The price goes up with time. I went to the Curry Acuracare site and the best I could get for my 05 was 1700 for a 6/84K exteneded ewarrenty. I purchased from Curry on eBay for $1175 last week for the 7/100K warranty.

I also tried other sites carrying the Acura Care warrenty and the price was well over $2K.
