What class SCCA Solo am I in???
I need help determing if I can be stock or have to go stock prepared for this event
https://www.motorsportreg.com/index....3#.UbtQo1_D86Y
rules : http://sff.net/people/dburkhead/prepcompare.htm
Type S, A spec mix matched suspension (Don't ask)
Front rear camber kit to get it into OEM spec.
17x8 +42 offset wheel, treadwear 300 tire OEM size.
AT Tranny cooler.
iSimple and door sills but I don't think they matter.
I'm confused
1. they say dealer-installed modifications cannot be in stock.
2. there's A, B, C, D, E, blah blah in stock/stock prepared? I found a chart somewhere but TL isn't listed.
Thanks in advance.

However, those suspension mods may put you in Street Prepared, and any brake mods will get you put into Modified-- which really sucks because then you'd be up against ridiculously modified cars.
Aftermarket air filters, body kits, coolers, etc. were permissible, IIRC.

The SCCA has some pretty comprehensive literature on-line.
For car classes, see http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/...rer%205-17.pdf

For Solo II, it should be G Stock-- that's where my '05 is, or check F Stock, if the TL-S is deemed a separate model.

it says STOCK is allowed to change brake pads and lining and replaced old rotors because they were old. OEM size.
I have OEM brake line.
and NO duct...
Tranny cooler DOES put me in street prepared but,, modified? really?????

What about Type S with OEM tranny cooler?
and TL & TL Type S is BOTH listed under G stock, so I'm just gonna go G stock.
ah this is confusing -_-

It looks like aftermarket tranny coolers now put the car in Street Prepared; the aftermarket tranny cooler was permitted in the stock classes when I was running Solo II in the '80s.
However, the mix-n-match suspension bits, camber plates and wheel offset will probably get your TL placed in Street Prepared.
G/L, and have fun!

your camber kits put you in prepared or one of the ST classes. with the 300 treadwear tires, id stick with a street tire class. every prepared car you see around here is on v710's or a6's.
the tl is a NOC (not otherwise classed) car. having larger than a 3.0 motor puts you in STX. honestly, thats more than likely where you will be most competitive with a 300 treadwear tire.
if youve never ran before, just run a novice class.

what
1. OEM front is nondirectional vented, rear is solid
my aftermarket rotors are OEM size, front vented, rear solid, but slotted for looks lol.. (yes)
2. my tranny cooler isn't OEM but,, TL-S has cooler, TL doesn't, but they're both in G stock (in stock form) I'm questioning this but Novice it is for now.
3. I have Type S & A spec (both OEM of course), and front upper arm plates and rear upper adjustable arm for camber.
I'm not trying to win anything. I just don't wanna be "disqualifiqed" cuz i was in wrong class. Thanks.
so... if the definition of NOC STX is over 3.0 liter,, would I be running with 2JZ GTE mazda Miata damn lol.
-----------------------------
My wheels are -0.11inch negative (at +42mm compared to 45 stock) so it's within STOCK limit of +- 0.25inch.
it's not fair I can't be stock cuz of tranny cooler I put it on for towing lol
Is there any modification restriction for novice?
Yes, all stock-size brake pads and OEM rotors are fine for stock classes. I was thinking of brake rotors when I checked the Solo II rules-- even vented or drilled stock-size rotors will put the car in Modified, let alone BBKs.

If the tranny cooler is OEM, then the car stays in a stock class.

If you're serious about winning you almost have to buy a particular car the class you want to run. Once you get out of stock the level of prep gets high fast. I wouldn't every take my TL to autocross with any level of seriousness.

I'm not serious about winning. I just need a place to slalom at interstate speed and not worry about totaling my car.
