What changed each year 04-08?

Hey guys.

I am planning on buying a 3g TL sometime in 2011. I am looking for any buying advise or recommendations you may have.

The main question I have right now is what changed each year from 04-08? I know the type s didn't come until 07, I just need to know about the major upgrades to the base tl each year.

If there happens to be a thread already created, please link me, I couldn't find one with search.

Thanks,
Chris

Wikipedia works?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acura_T..._.28UA6-UA7.29

Those are the main things.

There are obviously little things that's not on Wikipedia such as in 2005, the steering wheel got a new emblem, etc.

Those things you won't actually need to know until you get a TL lol

Oh and btw, get a Type-S if you can find one =)

07-08 base has the fog lights, updated grill, cleaner head lights, led tail lights, new bumper, softer suspension, turn signal lights on the side view mirrors and a little updating in the interior, not much though.

Man, I can only imagine what that 3.5L feels like in a 6spd. Esp after the fun I have been having driving an 06 6spd.

Buy a 2008 NBP Type S (2007 if you can't afford an '08). If I had a chance to do it all over again, that's what I would buy.

If you get one with around 100,000 miles, make sure the plugs, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, serp belt, have been changed (a.k.a. the 105k service). Otherwise take $1200 (or more) off the price. If the seller doesn't go for it, walk away...

hey guys I am bumping this thread and hoping you can help me. Anyone know if the headliner changed from year to a year. Mine has some cigarette burns and I found a type-s one at a junk yard that's flawless. And also dirt cheap so I wanna change it up. Any ideas?

Any headliner is better than what you have. Go buy it. How the Hell is someone able to not control his/her cig's to the point of burning a headliner ill never understand. Smoking is gross as it is but making the car look/smell as gross as a smokers habit is beyond me...

I was asking if an 07 type s headliner would fit in my car, 05 TL.

how it happened, why it happened and how bad of a habit smoking is shouldn't be discussed here.

I am looking at acuraoemparts.com and the part numbers are different. But colors are different too so maybe that's why the numbers are different. I don't know who can confirm this

Why wouldn't it fit? 04-08 tl are structurally the same car so its not like u are asking if the 09 tl or rl liner would fit. Remember Type S is a trim level and not a different car all together. I hope you maintain control of your cigs better this time around.

The 04-08 are not structurally the same. In 05 the wheel base width was changed along with the length of the car. As for a type S ceiling liner fitting an 05 I am not sure.

For the OP, an updated navi would be nice and I feel the rims look nicer on the 07-08's.

They should fit but it'd look odd since the TL-S headliner is black vs. the grey headliner in all other TL's or tan colored ones. IMO, rather than buy a new one, why not take off the old one and wrap it in Alcantara! It'd look really nice and save you some money as well, plus no worries about fitment!

haha no it was NOT. 03 vs 04/05/06/07/08 the wheelbase changed. haha Dude read more about your car please. The 07/08 only got upgrades but its the same car. Call Acura and see what they tell you in parts. Schematics will give you all info.

True. Wheelbase is exactly the same all years. Track can change but that's a rim/tire issue, not a frame/body issue. Length changes can something as simple as a bumper cover change between a base/S/aspec but the structure of the car is exactly the same.

I am asking because when I called the parts yard, they said it might be different because on their computers it doesn't show they are interchangeable. Oh and I don't smoke cigarettes. It's a joint burn from a year ago

I don't think it would look odd, I would like a black headliner because my interior is black. I like the all black interior, never really felt that the gray headliner flows well. It just didn't bother me that much but since it's winter and i don't really drive this car, thought it might be a nice project.

I am also thinking about doing the wrapping of the now burned headliner but I am scared that I might not be able to pull it off and then being stuck without the headliner with my interior all in pieces. So if I could change it up with a type-s black one, and then take my time on the wrapping, that would be perfect.

now it all depends on the price of the used type-s headliner because a shop that does interior work here locally quoted me 900$ for a re-wrap of the headliner
