What age are TL drivers?
#81
Is it me, or is it odd to see such a varied age roster for a car... Everyone from 19 to 50s is into the TL...
I thought it is customary that a car would hit one segment of the population.
Anyone have anythoughts why this car is so versatile in that respect?

I don't know that it is particularly versatile, as the age data for other cars is usually an average with many folks falling outside of the typical age range. Some marques do aim for particular age segments, such as Cadillac (at least in years past, now they are trying to appeal to younger folks with the CTS-V, etc.), or are priced so high that most of the people can afford them are older, such as Aston Martin.
As for the TL appeal, I think a lot of the younger-age appeal has to do with the technology it offers for the price. A lot of the people on this site are computer literate, to say the least.
Also, the fact that Acura brought back the manual transmission since it left after the 1995 Legend may have had an impact on bringing in the younger crowd. I can say that I would not have given the TL a chance if the car didn't have a 6spd.

Before that 00, Audi S4, fun rating 9.5
And before that 97, CL 3.0, fun rating 7.5

49, turning 50 in January. Of all the cars I have owned the new TL is the best. And everywhere I stop, people are always commenting on what a great looking car it is. Owned a 99 prior to this one, and there is no comparison.

32 y/o. Just picked up on Sat 11/22. Satin silver / ebony 5AT w/o navi. Absolutely love it, would rate it a definite 10. Traded in my '02 Vette for it and don't miss it a bit. Funny but I never was very attached to that car like all my other cars ('85 Stang GT, '93 Probe GT, '94 Cobra). We just had our first kid two months ago and the Vette was basically useless for the family, purely a ~400hp commuter vehicle. Believe it or not, I actually like driving this car more. The first words out of my wife's mouth when she drove it were "This car is bad ass". This car is the perfect combination of refinement, power, looks, and practicality.
My ONLY complaint is the lack of mp3 compatibility. That's it.

I was previously mostly a German car buyer, or Hondas (but I bought Hondas for economics and reliability, switched to Germans when I could afford it). I've been waiting for Honda to make a more "German" car, combining good looks with reliability, performance, and technology.
I don't have my car yet, but will have it on or before Monday, so I can't rate it. I wouldn't be buying and posting here if I didn't think it was going to be a home run though.

Driving a GMC Sonoma 4x4, but tired of the crappy ride. I drove S4, G35, 330, and S60, but decided on the TL because it is the best car for the money. Mine is coming in in Feb. Red/Ebony/5AT/Navi. I do like the NBP though.

25, give it a 9.5......only have 100 miles on her, she is fantastic, I just wish it can take the corners better, but I can settle for sports tuned sedan that looks and feels like any luxury car. I was looking at:
Nissan 350Z
Subaru WRX STI
Accord Coupe 6mt
G35 Coupe
compared to most of them, this car has better warrenty, better options, and mostly...cheaper insurance.

55, Owned 50+ cars so far from Lexus to '60's racing Mini with 130hp.
This TL so far offers the best combination of driving and comfort without the BMW stigma, and much better reliabilty. Size is good - I found the LS400, 7-series and A8 just too big.

26 years old 6MT Coming out of an SVT Contour, looking for a more sophisticated, faster car. Also safer for my 4 month old. Bebe thuroughly enjoys the new spacious rear quarters.

Unfortunately I may be a week or two behind you.
Congrats on your new ride.
