i just noticed this. after driving, using AC, i shut off and exit car, then i hear a rather loud "click" coming from engine compartment. what is it?

 

Can you explain that a little more. Some familiar sounds would be the contracting of the metal parts, or the beep after you hit "LOCK" on the key fob twice.

 

Please explain it a little more... the metal around the engine is expanded with heat... ???

 

it happens approx 15 sec after i turn it off and get out of the car (i have only heard it twice and have not noticed a common time), and this is the 1st time i have noticed it since May.

and yes, it sounds like a crackle "click" from a heat shield, but why just now would it happen??

And, is this normal for your 2002 3.2TL-s, or for the 2004 TL?
