Angry Well this F'd up my day!!

Without going into the whole entire explanation of how it happened, basically I was on my way home from work and some jackass ran through a red light and I hit the rear of his car. There was a few lanes of traffic to see around as I was in the far right lane and he says he got caught in between the lights. If he got caught in between the light how the hell did the guy 100ft ahead of me make it through the light before this guy came through the intersection? Figures as soon as I get my car all put together after waiting and waiting for parts to come in and then be installed, this happens, FML!!!
The only nice part of the day was a girl stopped to tell the police officer what happened and another guy named Tommy (TL owner) stopped by to make sure I was ok and see if I need a ride anywhere.

Lol yeah, I told him about the sight and told him to sign up. I think he said he just lurks the boards. He bought his car that way from the dealer.

Look at this as a good thing.

Free Type-S bumper, free paint-job, free modded (maybe Type-S) headlights, and maybe new stuff with extra $$$.

Were you or the other guy cited? Who's at fault? Guessing the guy who ran the red, but often when you have a front end collision the insurance pins it on you.

Painful to see another TL in that kind of condition. Glad you're okay. Hopefully you can get her repaired in no time and back on the road.

Wow, painful to see but glad you're ok. Good thing you have an eye witness; otherwise, it could've been your word against his.

Make sure you have any witness's contact information or ensure that they filled out report forms to the police dept.

This exact situation happened to my sister several years ago.
The damage wasn't bad enough to disable her vehicle, however she lost the case after loosing the contact numbers of the people who witnessed the collision.

My biggest nightmare and worry... after waiting, saving, and working hard to then have some idiot put all that hard work to waste. Good luck with the case.

Ah man! The sexy TLs are taking a beating, first JMillerUA6 and now this...

Sorry about the wreck, but at least you're OK and like TheChamp said, you could always upgrade to TL-S parts with the rebuild.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I really appreciate it. The only thing I keep thinking about is when they start restoring the car is all the modifications I just did to the Fogs and DRL's. I couldn't open the hood because of it being smashed in, but I want to see the wiring in order to know if it's messed up or not and I have to start ordering things to get ahead of the game since none of this will be replaced because it's aftermarket. I'm going to the collision place today to discuss all of what I have done and that I would like to see before they start working on it. The Aspec lip looks like it is ok and can be reused after some prep and paint, which is nice, but the headlight is pretty much destroyed. I contacted ACKTL05 already about him making me a new one and I will give him the new light they replace the broken one with.

Nobody received a ticket for the incident. This intersection is pretty bad. 3 lanes go straight and the far left lane you can trun left. I was in the far right lane and my light was green. A guy about 100 ft+ in front of me went through the light. As I got closer to the intersection I see the center lane starting to move. As I got closer I see the guy in the center lane start to go and then stop and I'm like wtf? So by the time that happend dudes car was half way in front of me and I slammed on my brakes and tried to miss him, but of course that didn't happen. The officer said that he didn't put fault on either of us, but techincally it was the guy making a left that was at fault causing the guy I hit to be caught in between lights. But if he was caught in between lights, how did the guy 100ft + in front of me make it through when the light was green and then all of a sudden this guy comes through the light??

No the air bags did not deploy, luckily. It was probably only a 10-15mph accident.

Yeah, besides the guy with the TL and pretty nice looking girl actually stopped to tell the officer what happened. She said a similar incident happened to her and nobody stopped to help or say anything. The guy with the TL was taking pics of the good side of my car, lol. This happened at the intersection of Route 73 North and Church Road in Mt Laurel. I will google the intersection later and try to post a pic of how it happened.

Glad you're okay, if you were to drive just a few seconds faster... it would've been worse. I'm sure the TL will be back in an even better condition!

Yeah the cop did not give anyone a ticket since techincally a guy making a left caused the driver I hit to be caught in between lights and I had the misfortune of hitting him because I could not see beyond 3 lanes of traffic to my left to even know he was there.

I called my insurance company right away after the accident. Since nobody is at fault they still have to cover my repairs, after all that is what we pay for insurance for. The other driver will have to go through his own insurance for repairs as well. I am still waiting to hear from the adjuster or whoever is handling my claim to get more precise information about the whole situation. As of right now, I only have to pay a $300 deductible to the collision place AFTER all the repairs are done. Then whatever else it's going to cost me to replace, some after market stuff I had on the car, like bulbs, possibly a wiring harness depending if wires were ripped apart or not, and my one headlight that was cleared and blacked out inside.

Glad you made it out okay. My biggest fear is to get t-boned in an intersection because some stupid idiot is texting... Hopefully you will make it out on top with the insurance claims, but keep us updated!

Damn man, sorry about your TL, but glad you're ok. I just read another thread in the TSX section; owner was hit by someone running a redlight and totaled his TSX.

Thanks for the support guys! I will keep everyone updated on how things are going. Right now it's only the beginning stages. I spoke with the claims rep today. She took my recorded statement as to what happened. I also get a double guarantee on the body work. One from my insurance company and one from the body shop. I'm sure things will be fixed in no time! I wish the dealership gave a free rental for this stuff. I would much rather be driving a 4G or TSX then a Chevy Malibu

Update

Ok boys, I went to the collision place and was able to check everything out damage wise. It's really not as bad as I thought it was going to be and I am actually really happy and relieved at the same time. The HID fog lights, wiring, DRL wiring, and ballast is in perfect condition. The new led turn signal bulbs I put in as well as the ZKW lens is fine as well. The only thing I lost was the headlight assembly and a DRL. The guy is also going to order a new aspec lip if the one that is on the car is not worth repairing once they take everything apart! Yes this accident sucked, but on the bright side at least I don't have to replace every single piece of custom work I did to the front end! What a relief!!
