Weird squares on inside of wheels?

so i saw theses weird rectangle like things lined up (4/5 of them) in a row on the inside of my rim - are these the weights for balancing?

they looked liek they were PART of the wheel so i dunno how they mount them.. i only found them on the 2 right wheels... so im a bit confused

I always thought they used those pill shaped weights to balance

Yes, those are the weights to balance the wheels. If you ever get new tires, don't let some tire idiot put normal wieghts on your rims!

The squares are the wheel balancing weights usually used on alloy/mag wheels which do not have a rim to support the old-fashioned clip-on weights. The weights are stuck to your wheel with adhesive backing (and are highly unlikely to unstick or fall off, if you were wondering).
