Weird question.

Now, this may sounds really, really strange, but I'm gonna ask you guys anyways.

Well, I went to the doctor and he cleaned my ears. Apparently, a lot of my hearing was blocked. Everything sounds so loud and crisp now.

Now - I went into my car and what do you know. I hear rattles and creaks from all over the place. In the dash, seatbelt, under the seats, center console, a-pillars, doors. EVERYWHERE!

But I noticed that I was able to hear the rubber of my tires grind against the little pebbles on the ground with my music at +3 going 5km/h, and I can now hear a hissing sound from the speakers when listening to cds.

Is all of this rattling and creaking normal? One of my friends who has a few Lexus vehicles says that every car is like that, but most people can't hear it (she has very sensitive ears).

Now my question to you guys is - am I going nuts?

Heh, your story is kind of funny. I actually had my ears cleaned by a doctor about 3 years ago because of the wax buildup. After the cleaning, I could hear high frequency sounds more clearly. So no, I wouldn't say you're going crazy, based on the fact that I could also hear better after having my ears cleaned, and that the TL is notoriously rattle prone.

some people are just more sensitive to squeaks and rattles. I am one of them as well.

the rattles in my 04 drive me crazy. i can't believe that it is acceptable for a $50,000 car (canadian, with tax) to rattle this much. i wonder it lexus's and infiniti's are like this.

Haha thanks for the responses. But I'm not complaining about rattles - I'm just wondering if my hearing is extra sensitive or not! i.e. can you guys hear the cd spinning while it's playing in the car? It sort of feels like when Clark Kent first discovered that he could hear as well as he does. I'm shocked at how much "noise" there is everywhere I go - I actually get startled and jumped a few times from the sound of my keychain bumping against the keys when I was driving.

I once again think Acura bore a gem when my car was built. No rattles at all.

Hmmm I got my teeth cleaned and ended up with a rattle in the passenger door. After a week I figured out what happened.

You know the free toothbrush, floss and toothpaste they give you after a cleaning? I took the paste and floss into my office but left the toothbrush on the seat. The next day someone got in and put the toothbrush in the passenger storage bin.

Almost 3 months.. 3200 miles and no rattles!!

I get the occasional rattle, which is very temperamental and intermittent. I do feel you on the sensitive hearing. I also have Clark Kent hearing. The other night, while I was trying to sleep, I could have sworn that I heard two fire ants (I live in TX) making love. Is that normal?

I think your hearing has been working 200% this whole time just trying to hear things normally and after the cleaning, you now have superhearing.

I just wanted to update you guys on this -

My Superman hearing is ... GONE!!!

I can still hear clearly - I just can't hear that crazy stuff anymore.

I'm kinda sad now, but I'm also a lot more sane! (Well, at least I hope I am.)

What you experienced is normal. I had my ears cleaned out "professionally" back in college and couldn't believe all the crap that came out. Couldn't believe there was that much room in my ear! But hearing was super sensitive for a few days...Like wiping my hands on my jeans would create an almost unbearable sound. But your body readjusts in a couple of day.

I swapped vehicles in the Winter with my wife and she with her high heels managed to kick a panel under the dash and when I took it for a ride last week could hear all types of noises coming from the front of the car and almost made an appointment to have it looked at.. , well my friend with NOWAXONEARS..take a few minutes to locate this rattles and you may find that they were caused by "someone" moving panels around, anyway I know that she drives the Rubi and can expect "noises" coming from the Jeep.....

u know what my response to this is???.... drive the car, pump the music and dont worry about the noises. worry about getting to point B =) all cars have noises from lambo to hyundai.....hyundai having more noises hahaha..... buuuuuuuuuut acura did and does have a service bulletin on the noises we are all experiencing....so if its really bothering u they will fix the pillars the headliner where the sunroof is had a prob( i dont know if they are letting them come out of the factory with the problem) a very close friend of mine owns an upholstery shop so i have all the supplies and materials to do this stuff my self and I stuffed the headliner, the pillars have to be stuffed lightly because the seatbelt wont retract...lol i found that out the hard way I put sound dampening material everywhere because I also did a system

Awesome! Did you have the "pressure washing" done or the suction? I've had both.

It was the pressure wash. I swear, I had water coming out of my nose after it was done.

Sunny2001- Just a regular family doctor.
