WDP owners

Im looking at some TL's and my color choices are between NBP and WDP. The thing im worried about for WDP is that small scratches and dirty spots are easily found. If you hit a bumper when trying to park you will see a clear scratch.

How do you WDP owners fight this?

I have a WDP that is almost 4 years old now but still looks pretty good. The best defense in keeping the car in good shape is defensive parking for me. I always now park where there is a curb or other barrier in front of the car so other cars don't kiss my front bumper. I usually strategically park so scratches are prevented to the side as well- there's a web site devoted to parking tips but I love parking next to end curbs or handicap spots to the passenger side.

Having owned a black car before, I would say WDP is easier to care for. The biggest problem I have is keeping the rear bumper clean of brake dust? and a California Duster is great for that job. The door jams also have this dust over time and I use the used paper towels from washing the windows for wiping down the jams and all is good.
As far as scratches go, a little touchup paint is all it takes (3 versions though: base, pearl, and clear coat).

I have the parchment interior and that is by far harder to car for than a darker interior and I think that is more of the issue I have.

I just take extreme precaution when parking, and i wash it about once a week.

i would think the NBP would show scratches more? but i dont have one so i dont know.

i work in a mall, one of the best places to get scratched imo. if you want to keep your car scratch free park far. its worth the extra walk. if you have some small scratches try scratX2.0 and rubbing compound, takes em right off.

for WDP usually youll see all that dirt on your rear bumper and there isnt really much you can do except wash it or spray with some car cleaner and wipe. you can try a clear bra on your car but i have no experience so i cant tell you the results from that.

NBP takes more time and effort to clean as you can easily see swirls on it. if you want it to look showroom condition, expect alot of time put into cleaning and detailing otherwise youll see some flaws easily.

both colors have its ups and downs but for me i chose WDP because it was easier to take car of.

MY WDP is 6 years old now and it's still in great condition if I do say so myself. The only thing that looks like shit on my car are my door handles. People open their doors into them and the paint falls chips off.

agreed i work in a mall too and have a NBP TL-S and i park as far away as possible..kinda sucks when it rains but id rather be wet then have a dent or scratch. its time consuming enough taking care of a black car and im sure others will agree

on the contrary, i think small scratches and dirty spots are more visible on darker colors than lighter colors. I once wasnt able to wash my car for a week and a half when i got sick and it still looked clean.

as far as the scratch when you hit a bumper, my suggestion is to not hit the bumper in the first place. if you are unsure of how far you are from another car you cant see, just put it in park, get out and check your distance.

I think you got it backwards. White hides scratches and defects more then darker colors. Black shows swirls and scratches more then any other color.

I had a NBP acura before and hated how the defects showed easily, not to mention was a pita to keep clean.

My wdp still looks new after 50k miles.

My bumpers are getting beat to shit

I figure that in a few years I will just go and redo my rear aspec and not worry about the scratches. as for the front bumper... its not to bad... but it is a fight that I don't think I can win.

Other then that, the WDP is a great color to buy. Good luck.
