Wash floor mats?

My ebony floor mats that came with my 04 TL are getting dirty. Is it ok to throw these into the washing machine/dryer? Any other effective, practical ways to clean the mats? Not a fan of the all weather mats.

Get carpet cleaner. It should do the trick. I have the all weather floor mats very easy to clean. I just use dish soap and warm water. Black all weather mats are good and last a very long time. More durable and color doesn't fade Well good luck with your mats.

The agitator of a washing machine may destroy the mats.

You might be better off putting them in a dish washer.
The only danger there is whether or not the mats can take the hot water.

Don't put them in the washer unless you want to buy new mats. Wash them in the sink with warm water and a 'soft' brush. That is the only and best way to wash them...

I, too, would use the spray-on carpet cleaner, and have in the past. Vacuum first, then spray the stuff on, then blot up the foam with a sponge. If really soiled, you may have to do a second application. When dry, vacuum again.

When cleaning mats, I usually spray a carpet cleaner on them. Then scrub with a semi soft brush. Then I'll soak the mat with water/hose to rinse the mat really good, you can usually see a lot of dirt come out of the mat when doing this. Then hang to dry. NOt sure if this is the saftest way, however it has always worked for me in the past and cleans the hell outa the mats. THen I would look at getting the all season mats to protect your good mats, they are a lot easier to clean.
